There are Jewish Kosher food shops on every block, all over the place. To find non-Kosher food is hard.

Like the only non-Kosher diner sold. The one on 56 and New Utrecht. Now it's Kosher too.

There are a few Muslims on the outskirts of Boro Park.

Rent there is very high. A very small apartment is well over a thousand dollars a month.

That is not the only treif diner, there are atleast two on New Utrecht between 56 and 54th st. Maybe three or four even.

Real estate's not real cheap over there in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. The 'territories are cheap' but try convinving people to live there after years of watching CNN.

I'm not boned up on NY rental stuff. Is section 8 rent assistance ? How does this rent controll thing I've heard about on TV work?

Section 8 is when the government pays your rent.

Rent control is where the government decides that you cannot raise the rent.

I hear urban legends about $2500 a month type apartments in manhattan going for $400 under rent control. Is this true or BS?

True, my Granpa had an apartment that would go for 3 or 4 k a month on the Upper West Side of Manhattan , for 500 a month.
