I hope this isn't true, but I think it maybe.

"If it were not for the US, Israel would not have engaged in a preventive war in 1967 and in 1982, would not have bombed the Iraqi reactor, would not have annexed Jerusalem and the Golan, would not have settled Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Yet it is America which pressed Israel to embrace the explosive booby-trap of a Palestinian state."

This is an excerpt from his recent article posted on Aruts Sheva

The Jerusalem-Washington alliance rests on many pillars: Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East; the State of the Jews arose from the ashes of the Holocaust and America is in some way obligated to the existence of a home for its survivors; the Jewish pioneering endeavor of making the desert bloom and of settlement are anchored in the American pioneering and entrepeneurial psyche and elicit admiration; the Bible is the common heritage of both peoples.

But what is termed "American aid to Israel" is a central axis of a political ransom which explains why the US treats Israel as if it is a banana republic (this is the place to recall Henri Kissinger's remark to Adm. Zumwalt, explaining why he was delaying arms shipments in the Yom Kippur War: "His intention," Zumwalt reported, "was to see Israel bleed just enough to soften it up for the postwar diplomacy").

The fear of harm befalling the granting of aid is a nightmare depriving Israeli leadership of sleep and binding its hands, silencing Israel's will and driving her rapidly to the point of harming her existential interests. It's the "client-patron relationship". The US also used its aid to Israel indirectly to subsidize its own industries, by requiring that most of it be spent on American defense products.

If it were not for the US, Israel would not have engaged in a preventive war in 1967 and in 1982, would not have bombed the Iraqi reactor, would not have annexed Jerusalem and the Golan, would not have settled Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Yet it is America which pressed Israel to embrace the explosive booby-trap of a Palestinian state.

Its the opposite. If it was not for the U.S. Israel would still control all the oil it discovered in the Sinai. And the preemptive strikes it was despite the U.S. Administrations pressures not to strike.

I don't know, I think Meottia knows what he's talking about.

I am not a fan of U.S. pressure on Israel of course, but Israel has a lot of self-hatred in her all on her own.

For argument's sake, let's just suppose that Israel is dependent on America for a host of reasons.  (Of course, it's always better for Israel to have America as a good friend.)  So does that mean that Israel should crawl into a corner and cover her eyes and ears and allow Hitler2 to make atomic bombs thus taking a chance of Holocaust2?  I mean, really, friend or no friend, what should Israel's priorities be?... to keep a friend or risk serious devastation from an avowed enemy?  The past is over and done with.  Right now I'm worried about Israel's future and not who did what in the past.  And what did the United States do when it thought Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction?  It bombed Iraq and invaded Iraq, that's what it did.  So what moral authority does Obamanation have to tell Israel not to wipe out Iran's nuclear sites?

Carter "Y.SV" pressured Israel and his partners in crime Begin and Sharon to give up the Sinai and the oil
for an untrustworthy "pact" not worth the paper it was written on and of course, they complied  At the very least,
Israel should have kept the oil!

What he says is very much incorrect, especially regarding 1967, the 1981 strike against the Iraqi reactor, and regarding the settlements and annexation of Jerusalem, to which America has always opposed.

It isn't true. Israel won the '67 Six Day War on its own not with help from America.

Now yes, but it is (to a large extent) because Israelis became dependent on America and think it needs its approval. Back in the days like in 67 and before where their was no "America" (in the sense of it being the "ally" it is today) Israel was more independent and most of the time actually wanted to win. After 67 things changed. But you are also correct that that stupidity did and does exist within Israel as well greatly also because of the very long galut.
