Some of the Chabad/Lubavitcher Rebbes Prescient Statements
« on: September 30, 2012, 01:16:35 AM »
I watched a video which one of my Rabbis loaned to me which included many interesting interviews with people who worked with prime ministers and other politicians during the 80s and 90s who had contact with the Lubavitch Rebbe.

I have posted some of these in a thread which is in the Torah and Jewish ideas forum... But the following couple of videos I would like to share with everyone.

The Rebbe was very aware of the Halacha concerning giving Jewish land to arabs. He stood against it at every chance he could, in his speeches before his students, to the people who he gave advice while handing out charity money, and with the top politicians which he spoke with.

Here are some examples where the Rebbe told the Jewish leaders to stand firm, to have faith in Hashem our G-d, and to never show weakness to our enemies. While the Rebbe was not as firm as our great Rabbi Meir Kahane in his attempt to take control of the situation from within, the Chabad Rebbe did make some inroads into Orthodox Jewish and even Chassidic Jewish thought. While many Chassidic groups stood firmly against the modern state, Chabad saw a hope that through this state the prophesied final redemption of the Jewish people was coming soon.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

This is one of the clips which I posted on my youtube account...

The Rebbe was firmly against giving Sinai as part of the Cramp David agreements...

Awesome Muman!

The Rebbe understood two things. When there is terror in Israel we must reply by building more.
Every time Israel weakens and agrees to give concessions to the Arabs, more Jews suffer as a result.

Great find IsraeliHeart.... I find that the Rebbe was very intelligent and aware of the situation, and he surely wanted to see a strong Jewish state with the view toward the final redemption.

Code of Jewish Law, Laws of Shabbos, Chapter 329: If non-Jews besiege a Jewish border town -- whether in the Holy Land or in the Diaspora -- stating that they come only to pilfer straw, Jews are obligated to arm themselves for war, even on Shabbos, because such an intrusion opens up the entire Jewish land to attack.

True peace will only be achieved when Jews stand steadfast. Then, "Your fear and dread will be upon them." We do not compromise — not because we rely on our own power, but because we rely upon the strength of the Code of Jewish Law.

"The Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps" -- at all times Jews are protected by G-d. But we are commanded to also take part in our own security.

First and foremost we must strengthen our "spiritual weaponry." G-d enjoins us: "If you will follow My statutes and observe My commandments...I shall set peace upon the land." But this must include the most fundamental Mitzvah to preserve the life of every single Jew -- to follow the explicit ruling in Jewish law concerning Jews in danger, wherever they may be, to take weapons in hand and defend themselves.

G-d wants us to employ conventional, practical means of self-defense. During exile, while other nations have influence on our security, we must seek to obtain weapons and receive financial aid from them, without compromising any part of Judaism, certainly not matters of life and death.
