I didn't watch the video before writing my first post, but one point he fails to bring up is the fact the Blackfoot kicked many tribes off their land and conquered many areas held by other tribes. I think its all fair game, including the white settlers who eventually took control of the land and defeated the Blackfoot, with the assistance of the enemy tribes of the Blackfoot, who assisted the white settlers.
I was talking about a whole different subject from the video, because I saw the word "Blackfoot" and "Nazi" and had no clue what the video was actually talking about.
Actually, the guy in the video is kind of a moron.. There was plenty of Italian Americans who participated in the Indian Wars, just as with the rest of the Americans. And, if he wants to b*tch and point the finger at other "whites", how about giving your land back to a native.
I do agree that the natives should do whatever they want on their land and they are hurting for money. The biggest threat to the environment are a-hole tourists from the other places like California or the East Coast who may decide to come live there and start building giant housing tracks and malls all around the National Park.
If you saw the land that the beautiful and resource rich land these Blackfoot Indians live on, you will understand why they don't want to leave the reservation and just go live in the city, toss away their culture and farms and join the rat race. It is simply one of the most beautiful and mystifying places on Earth, the Blackfoot territory and Glacier National Park. You have to see it with your own eyes to understand. They may be poor in wealth, but the land they have is pristine and they are also big into ranching, farming, etc. When I was driving back to Whitefish from the Eastern part of the park after I hiked Switfcurrent Lookout Pass, I drove through the reservation. I had to stop many times for wild horses, cattle, sheep and a variety of other animals being raised on the reservation.
Personally, I would love to have some land up in that area, as it is the most beautiful place on earth.
