Victoria, TX - Police Close to Arrest in Temple Desecration

Victoria, TX - No arrests have been made for the anti-Semitic desecration of a local Jewish temple, but a Victoria detective said that could change soon.

Caleb Breshears, a Victoria Police Department detective, said he feels he's within days of obtaining an arrest warrant. "I still have to talk to two witnesses, though," he said. "It's still under investigation."

The investigation centers on the Temple B'Nai Israel, which was vandalized with painted swastikas and other profanity, including the words, "Heil Hitler."

Breshears said suspects include at least two adults and a juvenile - all questioned in connection with the temple desecration. Police were alerted to one adult suspect via a call made to Crime Stoppers. "That broke the case," Breshears said.
"I don't want to give too much out at this point," Breshears said, adding he'll share more details once he passes his case to the Victoria County District Attorney's office for prosecution. [Victoria Advocate]
