A friend posted a link on Facebook to an article about pro Second Amendment Jews in The Forward.    Now I realize that it's The Forward, which is a left wing rag for self hating, sniveling cowardly, panty waisted liberal Jews.  But reading the comments makes me want to wring some necks.  Here's a link to the article:

Id be interested to know how many of these Jewish gun lovers have military experience,in any army. its one thing to fire a weapon,quite another to be on the receiving end. Then why doesn't the 2nd amendment explicitly say the purpose of the amendment is to guard against domestic tyranny? Instead, it starts with the sentence, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State....." And note the word "regulated" used in the sentence. That alone tells me the government can both protect and regulate such rights. That's the reason you are not allowed to own a fully automatic assault rifle.

Should you raise your weapons against our government, the same constitution you quote religiously, declares you a traitor according to Article 3, Section III.

Those same people owned slaves. Should we go back to owning slaves? Times change, cultures evolve. In addition, amendments are not sacrosanct. You don't have the right to yell fire in a crowded theater for example.

The ownership of slaves actually IS the point. The 2nd Amendment was added to appease the Southern states, who needed militia to put down slave rebellions. You spout RepCon Fox nonsense, not researched historical fact. Militias have been used since, to put down all kinds of citizen rebellions, from unions to Kent State. Not to mention if we DO accuse our government of "tyranny," there are two - and only two - possible scenarios: either our extensive military will side with us, and we will not need whatever puny weapons we keep at home, or that same military will defend the government as they are sworn to do, and we will have no chance against them.

The amendments are not the Bible. Because they were written by humans and they are interpreted by humans, they obviously do change and evolve.

The right to defends one's family or life may very well be a universal right. The right to own a Bushmaster and 200 rounds of ammunition and to keep those items unsecured in your suburban home with your troubled son who feels no empathy for other human beings is not a universal right. It is not a right. It is an infringement on my child's right to finish first grade alive.

Stop talking about your rights and start thinking about your responsibilities. Then, you will have my respect as a fellow citizen.

Until then, I can only see you as a threat, because a bunch of people who have little knowledge of history, a lot of guns, poor self-control and a belief that no one can tell them what to do is a threat to everyone else who believes in the rule of law.

Soldiers know where their guns are. You lose your gun or lend it around, you're out of the military. The very first gun legislation passed here and in England were lists of guns so that people could be called into service in their local militia. All gun registration laws at the state level have passed the Supreme Court because of this inconvenient fact about the Second Amendment.

The Second Amendment does not support your right to amass a personal arsenal and hide it from the government. It supports your right to serve your government in its defense. Get your facts straight.

The first law that Hitler enacted ended democratic rule in Germany. The next thing he did was oppress minorities and loosen gun control legislation for everyone else. Again, get your facts straight.

If you want America to be safer, you would advocate armed guards everywhere and universal military service -- something I would personally support. Arming every idiot with a semi-automatic weapon is not a solution to repressive government. It's a warlord situation. You want us to be like Yemen.

We have places in America where everyone is armed -- many inner cities. Do they seem polite or safe to you?

All of the dictators you mentioned also built highways so that they could move troops around the country and better control it. Should we oppose highways?

One of them writes that the Amendments are not the Bible and the evolve. They can only evolve by subsequent Constitutional Amendments. If they want to compare to religion, Rabbinic legislation can only be changed by a Sanhedrin. Until that time, all Rabbinic legislation in the Talmud is valid on all Jews. Comparing that to the Amendments, you can say that the Deform and Conserved "rabbis" made their own legislation that they are not authorized to do when they wanted to change the law just like the same people support judicial activism to change the Constitution without authorization. The Deform and Conserved "rabbis" actually go a step further and actually change Divine Torah Law, not just Rabbinic Law.
