Israel - The 2008 budget for the US Department of Defense includes the allocation of tens of millions of dollars for Israel to either independently develop or purchase existing defense systems to counter possible ballistic rocket attacks.

The new system would be used in addition to Israel's existing sophisticated 'Arrow' system, a project the US continues to fund.

On Thursday the House Appropriations Committee voted to give Israel an additional $70 million in defense aid beyond the $80 million requested by the administration.

Should the budget pass both the House and Senate votes, Israel stands to receive no less than $150 million. These funds are not part of the 'regular' US defense aid budget for Israel, which stands at $2.4 billion. [ynet]

If the Israeli Air Force would destroy the Iranian nuclear bomb-making program, Israel wouldn't need the Arrow system. The Arrow system is NOT the answer to the Islamic nuclear threat. The only REAL answer is to militarily eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat.

When Israel receives U.S. foreign aid of any type, it makes Israel much less likely to act on her own when her survival is in danger. Israel is afraid of jeopardizing the foreign aid, and so she depends upon America and other countries to protect her, which is true suicidal insanity.

To let the Iranians develop nuclear bombs, and then hope that the Arrow system can prevent the bombs from landing in Israel is lunacy. Iran must NOT be allowed to develop nuclear bombs! Period.

Israel-haters think that Israel desperately needs US aid to survive.  So they want the US to cut-off funding to Israel because they think it would result in Israel's destruction.  Their premise is based on their hatred of Israel so I don't think Jews should support Israel-haters. 

Israel needs to stop accepting foreign-aid from the US.
