Rabbi Lazer Brody Blames the Jewish Nation's lack of Torah focus
« on: November 24, 2013, 06:16:00 PM »
It is obvious that I find the sinat Chinam exhibited toward the religious Jewish population by the secular Israeli's a major factor in the terrible predicament we are in today. Rabbi Lazer Brody has no fear in stating an obvious observation based on the wisdom of our sages. Nothing bad can ever happen to the Jewish people so long as we are following the ways of Hashem our G-d. We enjoy divine protection, as promised in several passages of the Holy Torah, when we walk in his ways. But when we deviate, and mock, his Torah we are judged and exiled from the land which he promised us.

Here Rabbi Lazer Brody, of Yeshiva Schut Shel Chesed in Yerusalayim, expressing this idea:

Kerry for Kerry: Neville Chamberlain, 2013

וַהֲלַכְתֶּם עִמִּי, קֶרִי. .. וְהָלַכְתִּי אַף-אֲנִי עִמָּכֶם, בְּקֶרִי

"If you walk in a sinister manner with Me, then I shall walk in a sinister manner with you" (Leviticus 26: 23-24).

Hashem tells us in the above passage, as He says in many other places in the Torah, that He runs the world - and especially Israel and the Jewish People - on a measure-for-measure basis.

The word in Hebrew for sinister is kerry - it also means rebellious or spiritually impure.

The prophecy in the above passage is amazing - let's now translate it with its alternative definitions:

"If you walk in a rebellious manner with Me, then I shall walk with Kerry toward you."

US Secretary of State Kerry has now become this generation's Neville Chamberlain by caving into Iran. The USA's appeasement of the Ayatolla's, as manifest in the agreement signed yesterday is ever so remindful of the UK's appeasement of Hitler in 1938.

Yet, who made the deal with Iran? Kerry? No! Hashem made the deal, for everything comes from Him, as the Rambam reiterates in the first of our Thirteen Principles of Faith.

The current Israeli Government has become the most vehemently anti-Torah government in modern Israel's 65-year history; without a doubt, the coalition has been walking in a rebellious and impure (kerry in Hebrew) manner with Hashem. So measure-for-measure, they received Kerry in return, along with his ridiculous agreement that enables Iran to continue with its nuclear program, as well as his demands for unilateral concessions to the Palestinians. The Israeli Government gave Hashem kerry, and Kerry in return.

It's high time for all of us to wake up.

I will perhaps read this later but this is what I posted here

When Israel bombed IraQ it was also "isolated"
And at that time it was Begin who was in power and he gave a lot of money to the Haredim. Why the same thing happened at that time? Or what about OSLO time, Haredim were very much "in" on it as well, yet we see the disasters of it. Do us a favor, STOP ABUSING the TORAH for your own political interests and get back to REAL Torah.

Ahh NO. Cutting public funding to Yeshivot isn't the worst. Cutting Jewish children's payot and putting them into leftist Kibbutzim (after kidnapping them) and putting anti-Torah teachers and such is the worst. What is he even talking about? Their is no comparison.

The modern Israeli government is doing a lot more harm to the Torah world than just cutting Yeshivot funding. The hatred for the religious seems to be at an all time high. Morons like Lapid who have no shame in talking negative about those who study Torah and making his entire platform anti-religious are an example of what Rabbi Brody is talking about.

Not factually true. You can't compare their hatred + taking away funding to actual kidnapping and actual mass media influence for Jews not to be Jews. They always hated Jews and Judaism. Where is the Hiddush?

"Morons like Lapid who have no shame in talking negative about those who study Torah and making his entire platform anti-religious "

Actually he isn't the open about it. You definitely can't compare him to his father who actually was openly anti-Torah and anti-Religious.

LB and the Haredi politicians are basically making things up according to their own ideology (of mass Kollel).

Tag,

Do you agree that today the state of Israel's government is anti-Torah? I believe that it is. Witness the way the Rabbis are treated (being investigated for writing books such as "Torah HaMelech") how religious settlers are often rounded up for investigation of 'Tag Mechir' crimes when in almost every case they are innocent. The destruction of Synagogues and Shuls in settlements are 1st priority, on the Sabbath's no less.

And it is a terrible destruction to cut off funding to many Yeshivot. This is a different issue than whether Yeshiva students should serve in the IDF... But there should be funding of Torah learning from the government of Israel.

You know that Rabbi Brody's Yeshiva (Schut Shel Chesed) is a zionist Yeshiva, Rabbi Brody actually goes out to the religious IDF soldiers and supports them, providing Shabbat and other mitzvot to the soldiers.

Bad? Yes. Worst? No.
Saying the reason why kerry was sent is because of cuts to Yeshivot? NO.

It is also stating the wrong solution. The solution is for Israel to be an independent nation and not under American or another country's or entities (such as U.N. or corporations) control. The response should be- who care's what Kerry or anyone else says. Israel has to do what it needs to do. That is the solution, full Jewish independence.

If the entire Jewish nation learned the Torah, and the true teachings of it (as brought down by Rabbi Kahane) you would be sure that Israel would act in the best interest of the Jewish people and ignore Kerry and his ilk.

I fully agree with Rabbi Brody on this issue. If the Jewish people were educated with the teachings of our heritage they would never bow to foreign demands.

PS: I cannot see anywhere in Rabbi Brodies writing a reference to funding of Yeshivot. Is this something you are reading into his writing?

Quote
You shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you today shall be upon your heart. You shall teach them thoroughly to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for a reminder between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.

If only the Israeli government would ensure the basics of the Shema we would be walking in the ways of Hashem. This doesn't require Yeshivot...

I wish Rabbi Brody would do more videos.

" (as brought down by Rabbi Kahane) "

Exactly, the Haredim politicians aren't talking about that aspect. They talk about the aspect of people just learning and that is all. Not about learning and implementing the real Torah values. This is what you just added in parenthesis.

I believe Rabbi Kahanes Torah is evident to anyone who studies the Torah. Although it is true there are those who do not believe that the current state of Israel is the prophesied State of the Redemption I think all who are truly Talmid Chacham agree that Israel is where the final geulah will occur.

I have discussed many times the primary point of disagreement between religious Zionists and anti-zionist Jews... But the basic aspect of inculcating a deep-rooted belief in the rebuilding of Tzion comes from studying the Torah and the writings.

If only there was no sinat chinam and we could reach out to them to try to persuade them to understand the teachings of Rabbi Kook, and more strongly the teachings of Rabbi Kahane, we would increase the merit of the entire Jewish nation...
