More than likely if a car like this was made it would be less likely to hit animals or people because it would have a collision avoidance system. I hope it would be fine-tuned enough not to hit small animals, and it would also prevent being rear-ended when stopping for an animal because the car behind you would also stop to avoid the collision.
I don't really like the idea of it not having manual controls though because sometimes a car needs to go off road and I do think that it could limit the freedom of the driver in other ways.
