Arab rioter dies of wounds.The Hamas terrorists who control Gaza continued to fire rockets and mortar shells at Israeli civilians Monday morning, as Operation Protective Edge entered its 49th day.
Sirens signalling rocket attacks sounded in the communities of the Eshkol, Shaar Hanegev and Sdot Negev regions, and in the city of Sderot.
One rocket exploded next to a swimming pool in a community in the Eshkol region. It caused damege to the facility but hurt no one. Other rockets exploded in so-called “open areas.”
Earlier Monday morning, sirens wailed in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Raanana and other communities in the Sharon central-coastal region, but these were the result of an apparent false alarm.
In the early morning, sirens sounded in Ashkelon, in the Shafir and Be'er Tuvia regions, and in the Gaza Belt communities. The Iron Dome anti-missile batteries intercepted three rockets in the Hof Ashkelon region. Other rockets exploded harmlessly in the Hof Ashkelon and Eshkol regions.
Rioter dies of wounds
Meanwhile, a Palestinian Arab teenager wounded in clashes with the Israeli army three days ago died of his injuries on Monday, medical and security sources said.
Hassan Ashur, 14, was shot in the abdomen as protesters clashed with Israeli troops at Beit Furik, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian Arab sources told AFP.
Ashur's health rapidly deteriorated over the weekend, and he died Monday morning in hospital.
The IDF had no immediate comment on the incident.
Palestinians have staged violent riots in Judea and Samaria since Israel began its counter-terror operation in Gaza on July 8. At least 20 Palestinians have been killed in the these clashes since the start of the Gaza operation, according to UN figures.
