New Shabbat Phone App

Hello,
A new thing is going around online about a Shabbat Phone App...? And I am confused because the company is stating they're frum- but a phone app to be used on Shabbos?   :o
Anyone heard of this?

Is this a joke? You cannot use a smartphone on Shabbos...

I get text messages on Friday from Chabad with the candle lighting times...

Exactly. It's not allowed, this is why it was so surprising to me. But now I don't see it anymore online. Maybe it was deleted.
