French reports said at least 10 people were killed when several gunmen stormed the offices of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and opened fire on employees.

The shooters fled the scene, taking a hostage with them, reports said.

Reports said the apparently Islamist attackers yelled Allahu Akbar as they carried out the attack.

A police union official in Paris said three officers were wounded in the shooting.

At least two gunmen have attacked the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing a number of people, French media report.

Witnesses spoke of sustained gunfire at the office as the attackers opened fire with Kalashnikov assault rifles.

The satirical weekly has courted controversy in the past with its depiction of news and current affairs.

Its latest tweet was a cartoon of the Islamic State militant group leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

they were killed by muslims almost for sure so says the press...

this magazine republished the mohammed cartoons in 2006 that were published in the Yullands Posten in Denmark.
apparently these terrorists want to frighten us.

Belgian mass media says : the biggest mistake that we can make is to revenge on 'normal' muslims, because that is exactly what these 'radicals' want...

Also left wing opinion makers are frightened that right wing extremists are now going to abuse this situation to call for restrictions on leaving immigrants in etc,...

Nope they won't!

Unfortunately, this magazine was run by anti-Israel left wingers. Along with very courageous anti-muslim pamphlets,
 they published hateful and often salacious anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, anti-Israel cartoons. However, what happened to these French journalists is a tragedy and an assault on the whole Western Civilization. Nobody in France is save from muslamic beasts, short of the establishment. I mourn for these left-wing lemmings loosing their lives and feel sorrow for their families and for France humanity is losing. I admire their courage and unwavering commitment to Free Speech. I also think that they've done more positive than negative by taking an uncompromising position against muslamic cult. There are not publications like this in any other country, including USA.



However, the response from the magazine is inconceivable and totally appeasing. Their home page is now all black with white on black slogan: "Je suis Charlie" ( I am Charlie)
