Joel 1:1-2 says Sin brings God's Judgement. Anne Graham Lotz says we are under Judgement for homosexuality, abortion, and sin which is increasing. In 2 chronicles 7:13 God indicates to Solomon he would get people's attention. "When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send a plague among people, the people who are called by my name will repent." Roman's 1:18-32 The Wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. There harbingers being thrown at us daily to Obey God, and some are ignoring it.
The Natural world is being used as a harbinger, of floods, droughts, plagues, and earthquakes. Joel 1: 17-20. Iran may also be part of this harbinger for failed policies to act decisively against Evil.
