There are a few blacks in hockey, Jerome Iginla and Mike Grier are a couple of current players, but there are very very few for sure, I heard it was because their ankles were too weak for the skating but not sure if thats the truth
I still remember a few years ago, when the Oilers were playing my favorite Red Wings - and Anson Carter, one of the league's few Black players, who was at the time an Oiler, was standing at the Wings' blue line (the Oilers had the puck) with no one within
at least 10 or 15 feet of him. And then the puck was passed to him and, all of a sudden, out of nowhere - he just fell down, flat on his face. No one hit him, he didn't trip on anything - he just fell. I was laughing
so hard. He look like a little kid skating for the first time! If only I would have had TiVo then - I would have watched that over, and over, and over, and over again...
