The kkk had two eras.
The first era under Nathan Forrest, which was a reconstruction movement after the South lost to the North. They didn't hate Jews at that point.
The second klan was recreated by William Simmons, and had a new anti-Catholic, anti-Jewish, and anti-immigrant slant. It was inspired by the movie "the birth of a nation."
I believe Newman is correct that the "Klan" today is no political force.
And no common sense, just like their forefathers (or the original founders of the Klowns)
