Police arrest two students – one 'of Moroccan origin' - over the murder of six people shot dead in a Quebec City mosque carnage a day after Canadian PM condemned Trump immigration banhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4170500/Five-dead-GUNMEN-open-fire-Mosque-Quebec-City.htmlTwo students including one of 'Moroccan origin' have been arrested for the slaughter of six people at a Quebec mosque on Sunday which came a day after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned Donald Trump's Muslim travel ban. The gunmen opened fire on worshipers as they prayed at Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center at around 8pm last night in a terrorist attack that has since been branded 'cowardly' and 'barbaric'.
Witnesses claimed the masked killers shouted 'Allahu Akbar' in what sounded like Quebecois accents as they went on the rampage, killing six and leaving eight injured.
Five people remain in a critical condition in intensive care at Quebec's Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus. Another 39 escaped unharmed.
One of the suspects, a 27-year-old man, was arrested in his Mitsubishi after reportedly confessing to the shooting in a 911 call he made after fleeing the scene. The other was arrested at the crime scene.
On Monday, the Mitsubishi driver took police to a house on a quiet residential street 10 minutes away from the mosque, Le Soleil reports.
Both of the suspects are students at the city's Université Laval. The university's president said on Monday it would cooperate with police in 'any way' it can.
The shooting unfolded after a weekend which has seen US President Donald Trump's divisive and controversial 'Muslim immigration ban' spark widespread protests across America. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that his country remains open to all immigration and told refugees on Sunday: 'Canadians will welcome you regardless of your faith.'
