The Rav Ovadia crowd (well not his daughter) likes scarves instead of wigs, basically because it doesn't make you more modest. If you want to make him and kaballah happy you put a scarf on a wig. It so happens that women in India give their hair at idol temples for idolatry, and the temple sells the hair to make money for their idolatry. In the yeshiva I was in near 770 (I had to leave because sitting made my spine come out and rip out half the muscles in my back, it hurts alot for a while) there was a company that sells wigs in the kosher advertising bulletin, came out that some hair came from these places in India. The company said they didn't care, so the yeshiva put duct tape over the little square for them. There are companies that kosher certify them so you aren't wearing idolatry hair.
