I will never forget the immediate aftermath of this war.
The day that Egypt committed an act of war against Israel with its sea blockade, and all of the muftis and mullahs and PLO terrorists were publicly declaring that "all the Jews will be thrown into the sea", my Mother and Father picked me up right after school let out to go to a special prayer service at schul. Every Jew in the community was there, there were collection boxes to send aid, but all seemed resigned to the inevitable genocide of the Jewish People in Israel.
Exactly one week later, the Jewish People worldwide were elevated both spiritually, and also in the eyes of all the nations; including those hostile to us. The photographs of the pinpoint Israeli air bombing which rendered the entire Egyptian air force null & void was proclaimed (correctly) as a miracle of Ha'Shem; a feat surpassing human possibility. The Temple Mount was in Jewish hands. The Golan Heights was stormed by infantrymen and bulldozers, eventually liberated. All of Judaea and Samaria were in Jewish hands. The combined Arab armies armed to the teeth with the most advanced Soviet military weaponry was crushed in less than one week. Every newsmagazine in the world was full of black and white photos of the outgunned, outnumbered, and victorious Jewish Army which stunned an unbelieving world!
This was real "shock & awe"...not a hyped up "pushover" recently witnessed live and in color on cable TV.
As usual, the Arab Moslems screamed bloody murder publicly that (as usual) they were the victims of U.S.-Zionist "treachery"; that the U.S. had actually piloted all of the planes which destroyed the entire Egyptian air force, etc... etc... .
Had not the UN & Eastern Bloc Communist nations forced Israel to stop its advance, the war would have ended with the unconditional surrender of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, possibly Iraq.
May we all soon see more such events.
