The UN put Jerusalem on their list of heritage sites but they didn't list it under Israel. Jerusalem is not just a historic archeological site and it's also not an amusement park. It's a real living city and it needs modern transportation. If they cared about archeology, they would encourage the restoration of the Old City to the Temple with modern amenities like cable cars for all the olei regel going to the Temple.
