In a Sane World, Biden Doesn’t Survive that Interview

In a sane world the interview presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden just conducted with “The Breakfast Club” radio show host Charlamagne tha God would have completely ended his candidacy.

Ed Muskie weeping in the snow was nothing compared to this.

Neither was Al Gore’s invention of the internet, Dan Quayle’s potato(e), or Howard Dean’s scream.

In fact, Joe Biden’s interview was so bad, so offensive, so disconnected from reality that it should qualify as a graver campaign blunder than his own catastrophic procession of lies about his law school record when campaigning for president in 1988.

In case you missed it, and rest assured it was so bad that the Democrat Media Complex is going to do all they can to make sure you miss it, Biden committed at least three jaw-droppingly awful moments.

First was his ridiculous claim that people in jail can’t read.

You could be forgiven if you came away with the impression that the statement was meant to pander to an audience he perceived to be largely black. Assuming that were true, consider what that says about Biden’s underlying assumptions about the black community. Get what I’m saying? This was a really bad moment.

Not to mention the suggestion that everyone in jail can’t read and has no discernable skills is so far removed from reality, it’s hard to know where he even came up with it. Supposing he was referring to longer-stay, more-serious offense prisons rather than local jails, consider that many prison systems have educational opportunities, including the chance to earn up to a bachelor’s degree while incarcerated.

Second, again specifically directing his remarks to the “black community,” Biden called for the decriminalization of all drugs.

Regardless of your feelings about marijuana, which Biden specifically mentions, his call to suspend jail sentences for all drug offenses includes is jarring. Cocaine, meth, heroin, fentanyl – the country would be better off if trafficking of those drugs was not punishable with jail time? A general rule of thumb is that pandering promises don’t make good policy. He’s just a remarkably unserious candidate at this point.

Which brings us to the coup de grace:

The Democrat Party’s assumption of ownership over black minds is as offensive as the Democrat Party’s prior assumption of ownership over black bodies. Again, in a sane world this would be disqualifying. But we don’t live in such a world. So Biden has walked back another one of his racist comments, and the Democrat Media Complex is running damage control for him.

Seriously, the Washington Post quickly put out a piece saying his remark was “clearly a joke,” and CNN cranked out this doozy of a redirect: “What Biden said was outrageous. But some say, so was the reaction.” “Some say” indeed.

Leave aside the alternative of Trump for a minute and just evaluate Joe Biden as a prospective president. Shoot, leave aside his obvious mental deficiency and inability to form coherent thoughts. Is there anyone who can rationally and reasonably say that this guy should be within 20 miles of the White House, no less living there?

Now he's blaming the reporter. Admittedly, someone called "Charlamagne tha God" probably did something bad sometime, even if it was just extremely mind-altering drugs. However, guy just basically asked Biden what he'll do for black people.

Wait, What? Biden Blames His ‘You Ain’t Black’ Remark on Charlamagne tha God, Makes It Even Worse

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden actually did a real interview in person today with CNN’s Dana Bash.

This followed Joe coming up from the basement for the first time yesterday for Memorial Day. His last public appearance had been in March.

But maybe he should have stayed in the basement because he does not take being asked questions or being challenged at all well.

Bash asked him about his “you ain’t black” comment with Charlamagne Tha God. Biden said to Charlamagne that “If you have a problem with figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” when Charlamagne was pressing him for answers to questions about how he was going to help the black community. Bash noted that Biden apologized saying he was being “cavalier” but that in the same interview he had also claimed to be endorsed by the NAACP “every time I’ve run” which the NAACP refuted and Bash said plainly, “isn’t true.”

Biden’s response? He basically avoids answering why he lied about the NAACP endorsing him, simply saying the remarks were a “mistake.” Deliberate lying isn’t a “mistake.” But then he goes on to blame Charlamagne. “I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy with him, he was being a wise guy and I responded, kind.”

Wait, what? Here’s the comment.

I invite people to draw their own conclusions. Biden was trying to get out of responding to more questions and Charlamagne was just pressing him to answer, as any interviewer would. It was only Biden who was being the (racist) wise guy. This is actually only compounding the original remarks.

Biden can’t ever take being challenged or he reacts nastily, it’s never his fault, even when Bash is giving him every opportunity to clean up his remarks, he has to make it worse.

Biden then says he’s “never taken the African American community for granted, never ever, never once.” I just had flashbacks to Bill Clinton and his “never ever, not once” told anyone to lie about Monica Lewinsky. If you didn’t take African Americans for granted, why did you say that? Why did you lie about NAACP support?

Biden claimed that he’s earned black support with his work. But that’s exactly the question that Charlamagne wanted to ask him and that he begged off of: what have you done? As Charlamagne accurately later pointed out, Biden’s past policies have not been helpful to the criminal justice reform. Meanwhile President Donald Trump has been a champion of criminal justice reform with the First Step Act.

How can anyone vote for Biden with stuff like this?
