It was the largest rescue operation of American Airmen in history.

In 1944. Yugoslav Royal Army in Homeland (Chetnicks) under the command of General Dragoljub Mihailović organised a rescue of over 500 allied airman shot down over Nazi occupied Yugoslavia.
