Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice issued a warning to Israel against acts that may erode the confidence in the new round of Mideast shuttle diplomacy she opened Sunday.
Rice made the statement as she flew into the region from Russia, saying she hopes to be of help in narrowing the differences between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Both sides are attempting to forge an outline of an eventual peace pact in a joint statement that is to be presented in an international conference hosted by the U.S. next month.
