Since when are there more Muslims in America than Jews?

Growing up there were never so many Muslims in the US other than a few crazy schvarters with Elijah Muhamad's later Louis Farrakoon's Nation of Islam cult & a few pockets on Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn & in the greater Detroit area. I am curious where they suddenly came from?

There must be at list 3-4 million followers (my guess) of minister Farakoon and prophet Elijah Muhammed, an increasing number of leftist white and latinos converts, and an ever increasing stream of muslim migrants.
