I have to admit I have not studied much on the former Yugoslavia Issues.But I am sure there a was never a "Kosovo" in any history I ever heard of any more than there was a "Palestine" . Kosovo was traditionally a Serb region where a lot of their history happened going back centuries. If there are people there who Identify as Albanian why not just move to Albania ? Why the ethnic cleansing of Serbs starting in WW2 ? Why create a second Albania ?
Also the Idea of any Muslim state in europe gives me the willies ! Where does that end ?
France , England & other European countries already have "States within a State " !

Let me tell you a few things about Kosovo.
Fisrt,it's not just "Kosovo".Full name of the province is "Kosovo and Metohija"(Metohiya),and that means that the province has two regions.First region is named "Kosovo" and "Metohiya" is another one.Name "Kosovo" is made of the Serbian word "kos" which is the name for black bird that is characteristic for that region(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fc/Kos_cerny.jpg).Other part of the region called "Metohija"(Metochiya) was made from the Greek word(s) "metos-hios" which means "monastery land" or "the property of the church"(in this case Serbian Orthodox Church).This second name is kicked out of its full name from the NATO occupiers because it represents province's history,tradition,religion and property.And all of those mentioned is connected with ONLY Serbs,not Albanians.

One more thing.You are fully correct when you say that you've never heard about "Kosovo",because that was NEVER a state.Even that was never a province since 1963,when Yugoslavian communist dictator Josip Broz Tito gave to the region the status of autonomous province.Before that it was only a geographical region without any administration and its full name was "Kosovsko-Metohijska oblast"(Kosovo-Metochian region).
So,I hope you can understan it little better now. :)

The Albanians claim that they are the direct decedents from the Illyrian tribes, (as one tribe was named Albanoi) and these tribes lived in the Balkan area over a thousand years ago, stretching from Italy through Dalmatia and down to Greece.
They believe that the albanian language was somehow related to the ancient Illyrian language.
But to say that this claim is disputed would be an understatement as the Illyrians left no record, what so ever of their language or culture.
The majority of the Illyrians were conquered and/ or assimilated by the Slavic people after the fall of the roman empire.
Albanians are more likely to be decedents from the gypsy or from the Turks or Asia
Whatever the case maybe, the Albanians have never archived anything.
Their language is totally useless, even less than Latin.
They culture is non existent, unless you call blood feuds, inbreeding and terrorism to be a cultural trait.
They are so backward that they never had any cars or T.V until 1990.
They have never fought for, or spilled blood for their so called homeland. Instead, they have been concurred numerous times and chose to side with the greater powers, namely Turkey and later with the Nazi's
This is shown in their greatest hero Skanderbeg, who gained fame by being a traitor to both the albanians and then the Turks.
Basically the Albanians are a mongrel race of rubbish people.

Not to someone in law enforcement. There needs to be outsiders who can infiltrate the Albanian Mafia, since part of the Albania Mafia's success involves using the Albanian language to throw off outsiders.

You forgot to mention heroin smuggling, human trafficking, petty crime, promoting prostitution, and historical revisionism as being a part of their culture. What a tragedy that the Albanians were not assimilated into the Serbs, Slavic Macedonians, Greeks, or even into the Italians centuries ago.
