It’s done. The day is here. Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he’s retiring. It will be effective on July 31. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said a vote to fill the vacancy would occur this fall, providing an extra incentive for Republican to turn out and vote in the 2018 elections. As you can imagine, the Left is having a full-blown meltdown. We’re primed to have a solid conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
So, just watching MSNBC right now, juveniles might be executed, abortion rights are going to be rolled back, and America is going to descend into the dark ages. Of course, this is all dubious and most if it pure crap. Over at the Democratic National Committee, panic gripped staffers. Politico’sDavid Siders tweeted about the chaos that erupted over this DNC conference call (via NTK Network):
“Justice Anthony Kennedy has just announced that he’s retiring,” one person told the group.
“Ohhhh!” one person yelled out.
“Oh my God,” another exclaimed.
“Not that he’s done us any good on these recent decisions, but he was the one who was usually persuadable,” one person lamented.
The Trump White House said that the next Supreme Court justice is on this list, and that the search to fill this vacancy will begin immediately. It should be noted that Judge Thomas Hardiman of the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals is on the list. He was the runner-up during the search to fill the Scalia vacancy; now-Justice Neil Gorsuch ended up being the nominee.

Ginsburg is the worst. If Hashem takes her, the Liberals will never retake the court. If she wanted to give an eternal legacy gift, she would have retired during Obama's first term.

That would be unbelievable.... and at this point... anything seems possible. 2 constitutionalist supreme court picks in a 16 month period is already hard to believe. But please give us this trifecta!!!! It would annoy liberals for over a generation!!!!

From everything I've read, it's close to a lock. This was in the works for a long time, and needed to be timed perfectly. The only RINO that will potentially vote against it would be Mccain (or his substitute since he is battling brain cancer). There are 4 democrats that are from red states, and will most likely not be re-elected if they don't vote to approve him. So maybe half will vote for him (the same happened with previous nominee)
But if none vote for him, and Mccain's substitute votes against him... it would be a split vote, and would go to the V.P.
So the only scenario would involve all 4 red state dems voting against it, Mccain voting against it, and another RINO voting against it... but that seems very unlikely.
