Ghalib will be the first Arab American and first Muslim to lead Hamtramck, which has the highest percentage of immigrants among cities in metro Detroit. About half of the city is believed to be Muslim.

Winning three council seats were Khalil A. Refai, Amanda Jaczkowski and Adam Albarmaki, who are all Muslim. That could mean the entire six-member council in Hamtramck will be Muslim.

That’s true but Detroit was never a bargain
anyway, now it is worse than before.
