Yes, indeed.

Men need to work, women need to be home, feeling good, and not under a BUNCH of UNNECESSARY STRESS. WTF happened here in USA? Women are NOT smarter than men, its just the FACTS. Let the men go back to work, and women work on the computer, selling little trinkets all over the world on ebay-etc.. The economy would SKYROCKET. Women were WAY happier at home, it is the TRUTH. That is EXACTLY where G-d made them to be, women are NESTERS. You cant nest at a job, that is only an 8 hour nest. BOTH of my grandmothers have tole me, re: feminism.... "Sure glad I'm not you, kid- having to go out in the world and do a mans job" thats what they use to tell me, no joke.
Look at how women were much more content before:

Other - Both!
My mother is an example of that... she worked and raised a famlily ever since she came to America she had 2 jobs!

I Choose the housewife
-
What, I am the only one to option working wife ?!
-
What, I am the only one to option working wife ?!
Yes
-
Actually I have nothing against housewifes, I just think that a woman should not be compelled to be a housewife, this can be very frustrating and ultimately ruin the marriage.
-
Working wife, if that makes her happy as long as the kids aren't suffering.
-
Working Wife IMO! I want my wife to get out into the world and make a difference. I don't want her wandering the malls for 8-9 hours a day then come home and slave over a hot phone ordering dinner. Also, I refuse to marry a woman that insists that I'm her support and she doesn't need to work (I see this as I peruse sites like jdate). Long story short, I don't want a Peg Bundy!
-
Hey Hanna, I have 2 Shitzus. Let me know if you go in the grooming business in Georgia. They go from clean cut to dust mop in about 4 weeks. :)

The problems come when work and possessions are more important then family.
A woman's priority must always be the 'home'.
We are the 'homemakers' even if we work outside the home.

I can't agree with the OP's pictures. Not all women who work are that horrible. Also, this is not 1955. Unfortunately you need 2 incomes in a family to stay afloat in this economy. Don't get me wrong, I have a master's, and I'm hoping that the woman I settle down with has a good education as I see this is as extremely attractive in a woman.
-
I like having the 2 incomes. My wife lets me get away with spending lots of money on guns, ammo and other toys, er tools!!

This is a tough call. Ideally I think one partner should work and one take care of the children. But, if both must work, the best thing would be for them to be in the same profession where they have a similar passion--that would be best for the marriage, by far.
One thing to note is that women seem to be more sensitive to work overload than men. They are much more susceptible to clinical depression, a diminished sex drive, and stress-related illness than men, at least married men.
I myself would have no problem with either a housewife or a wife who is passionate about her job (meaning she loves doing it for the sake of doing it), but I would hope my income could cover us both.
-
Options confuse me, a house wife is a working wife :) . There couldnt be any more important job then that, to boot.
-
In today's world, a stay at home parent is pretty much a thing of the past. One can say that they want to stay home and raise the kids, but that can make it very tough on a family budget. I respect those who can stay at home, but relate with those who have to work.
-

I agree. I was once the bread winner in the early years of my marriage. It really gave me a bad attitude towards my husband. I struggled with lack or respect toward him. Yep, I repented. However, now at home with a tighter one income family, I find it so much easier to focus on raising god fearing children, and meeting the needs of my husband. I would agree that working outside the home puts a lot of stress and strain on a marriage that ultimately can ruin it. My husband would agree.

WHat if she is semi-retired? and does volunteer work?
-
Women who want to work instead of be at home with children want to be men. I'm not gay, so I voted housewife.
I've done both: I much would rather stay at home.....and do volunteer work...I do however, want to start an art biz or maybe even DOG GROOMING (is Shamgar reading my mind?????? or did someone tell on me???).
I would really like to get back into my art, someone even prophesied over me about HaShem wanting me to do that, I must!!!
-
when I was younger I wanted to be the sole bread winner and have a house wife. But there is no problems with a working wife I am not married yet, but my girlfriend works no problems.

I can't see how a wife can be relaxed and happy if she must maintain a home, manage a household, and bring home the bacon? I have worked all my life since twelve years old (blueberry picking to teaching in the schools). I have a lot of years of experience in this area. I also have many working aquaintances/moms. They all seem aggitated and disrespectful to their husbands, and impatient with the children. Their children also tend to be wild and disrespectful. I know the truth hurts, but I see the opposite with those women who stay at home. I am sure there could be rare exceptions, but I haven't seen them. It can be very scary for a woman to depend on her husband as the bread winner, very vulnerable. However, most women refer, in jest, that there husband are another child to care for. That sounds so disrespectful to me, with such an edge of bitterness. Yet, every working woman I have met says this in front of her husband to other people. I would rather learn to live with less and have the time to meet my husband with love and joy at the door than be overloaded with an irritated and bad demeanor because I was overworked and exhausted.

As a working Mother...I take some offense. While I would prefer not to work outside of the home, I do need health benefits and an income.
I'm not agitated or disrespectful to anyone.
My child is not wild and disrespectful.
I see that you may be a working Mom - on rereading your post. So I'll change mine.
For people who can live on less...they should be grateful.
Where I live, the cost of living is so high, most Mom's have to work. We don't have a whole town of wild and disrespectful children. The problems in our society don't all lie at the feet of working Mothers.
-
That sounds like a rough neighborhood.
I think what's missing is morality.
I can still teach my child to be a good and moral person...even though I work.
In fact, I think I am a very good role model for my child. I raise her with love and caring. I'm part of a 'helping' profession (which I hope she admires me for). I am helping my parents as they age. Nothing wrong with my child seeing a woman be both strong and compassionate...especially since she is a girl.
Oh - and I don't think I'm unusual. I think many women are trying to do the same thing...live a moral life despite the pressures placed on us.
-
It sounds like you are very fortunate to be able to stay at home and manage the upbringing of your children so well. It also sounds like the circles you associate with more or less are church going folks of the same mind. If only everywhere in the world was still like this things would be simple. Today the world is a hostile place and while its good to teach you children to love G-d and have good manners they also need to know how to deal with the real world that exists outside of private or home school situations. Once children raised like that have to leave the sheltered environment they are often at a loss to deal with a world that is very hostile. I have no horse in this show but from what I see even if parents work they still can get good results if they spend time talking to their kids and trying to teach them the difference between right and wrong. Kids today need exposure to what they will be dealing with. I don't agree on the timing and the levels that some school system force questionable subjects down kids throats but at some point kids should know whats shaking out there. Tossing kids out into the world after 15 or so years of a sheltered upbringing can have disastrous results. Unless people plan to stay in their protected circle's forever I don't really see it working out any better in the long run.

:-X
Let me just say - I couldn't be prouder of my child.
She's a good person, for having a working Mom and for being educated outside the home.
-
i'm single right now, but would like a working wife..though my mom wouldnt like her daughter-in-law to be working.
-
I would love to have a wife who works and earns the bread while I sit at home enjoying life ;D

I always thought it strange how Al Bundy never liked to get intimate with his wife. Peg was always ready for action while Al was totally turned off to the idea. I hope I’m not out of line here, but I wish my wife was more like Peg Bundy. If your wife doesn’t care about your male needs, then it doesn’t matter whether she is Employed or a housewife. It must be nice to have a wife who cares, and understands your needs.

Peg Bandy is an emasculating wife, I don't think any man would like to be intimate with a woman who only ridicules him and complains all day.
