LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- YELLOWPAGES.travel and SearchBoth.com have officially launched their long-anticipated Muslim Heritage Video Program. The three-minute emotional rollercoaster takes you through the trials and tribulations of Muslim-Americans before leading into the vast contributions Muslims from around the world have made.
Emotional rollercoaster? Yes. You see, since 9/11 people have gotten the crazy idea that some Muslims are terrorists, and Muslims are facing worldwide persecution as a result. But this persecution is unjustified, you see, because -- well, just look at prominent Muslims such as Donna Shalala, Edward Said, Senator John Sununu, Frank Zappa, George Mitchell, and Spencer Abraham! They're all listed, along with others, in this videohttp://us.searchboth.net/MuslimHeritage/ (http://us.searchboth.net/MuslimHeritage/) for the program.

One of the many problems with this scenario is that none of the people I listed above are actually Muslims. I am fairly certain that several others listed in the video aren't either -- Michael DeBakey and George Maloof, among others also. Muslims don't have names like Michael and George, but Lebanese Christians and other Arabic-speaking Christians do.

It's fairly pathetic when an initiative boasting of one's achievements has to borrow those of other people.

UPDATE: The video has been pulled, but Bryan of Hot Air http://hotair.com/archives/2007/11/19/video-yellow-pages-salutes-islam-by-claiming-athiest-and-roman-catholic-as-prominent-muslims/ (http://hotair.com/archives/2007/11/19/video-yellow-pages-salutes-islam-by-claiming-athiest-and-roman-catholic-as-prominent-muslims/)has it -- with an addendum pointing out some of the errors.
