Gay marriage increasingly popular

Fri 02/11/07 - The number of same sex couples getting married continues to soar.
More and more gays, lesbians and bisexuals are tying the knot according to new figures.

Last year there was a nine percent surge in the number of same sex unions in Belgium.
Same sex unions are especially popular among lesbians.
Yves Aerts of the Flemish gay association says that many lesbians have children from an earlier marriage. They often want to give these children the security that only a marriage can offer.
This is why they opt for a second marriage.
New adoption legislation also allows people to adopt their partner's children.
The number of children being adopted by gay couples is also on the increase.
Last year 1,124 gay marriages were concluded.
The figure for 2005 was 1,027.
In 2003, the year in which the first Verhofstadt Government tabled legislation in favour of gay marriage, there were only 854 same sex unions.
Among lesbians same sex marriages are most popular in Antwerp province.
The number of same sex marriages concluded by men is highest in Brussels.

One example: the gays&lesbians are having all the possible "Pride Parades" they could ever wish for. But that doesn't please them. They're pushing an agenda of banning all kinds of counter-demonstrations, claiming this be hate-instigating, homophobia, etc,...
Now we even have a global "anti-homophobia day".
But there is hope "Parade of Normality"
Thousands of people took part in anti-gay demonstrations in Spain and Poland over the weekend.
In Madrid, a demonstration against the government's gay marriage proposals was led by Catholic bishops, who pledged last week to take their opposition to the new laws to the streets.
Despite the government recording widespread support for the law changes, which will allow full marriage and adoption access for lesbian and gay couples, the country's Catholic Church has called for the legislation to be dropped.
Backed by Pope Benedict XVI, Spain's bishops have also called on Catholic lawmakers in the country to vote against the bill.
Hundreds of thousands of people took part in the Madrid protests, with 500 buses apparently used to ferry people in from other parts of the country.
Despite the vociferous opposition, the bill is expected to be passed in the coming months.
In Warsaw, around 800 people reportedly took to the streets in protest over last week's controversial Pride parade.
The Pride event had been refused authorization by the Polish capital's mayor for the second year running, and his outspoken views on the event led to gay campaigners from across Europe pledging their support to the march.
Saturday's counter-demonstration -- dubbed by organizers the "Parade of Normality" -- was attended by far-right groups, as well as ultra-Catholic organizations, according to press reports.
More demonstrators criticized the event as "fascist" and slammed Warsaw's mayor for granting permission for it to take place.

2/ It's OK to be sexist (unless you're a man)
3/ It's OK to shout your sexual preferrence from the rooftops (unless you're straight)
4/ It's OK to have firm religious beliefs (unless they're Judaic/christian)_
5/ It's OK to have extreme political views (unless they are right of centre)

After two q-men got married, the it-she of the relationship was told by the doctor at the "Men's Clinic" that he was pregnant!
The doctor asked "So, who's the lucky guy?"
Embarrassed, the "silly man" turned red with rage and shouted "How am I supposed to know?"..."I can't see behind me!"
