Title: Yigal Amir & the Moshiach
Post by: Mifletzet on November 05, 2007, 06:28:55 PM
Rabbi Mattisyahu Glazerson points out that interestingly יגאל עמיר = 364
364 (+1 for the kolel) = המשיח

The Talmud says that Rabbi Yannai's talmidim said the name of the Moshiach will be "Yinnon", and the Sefer Eliyahu likewise. The Sefer Eliyahu http://www.religiousstudies.uncc.edu/jcreeves/sefer_elijah.htm
also says the Moshiach will come during the reign of a leader called הרמלט (=Olmert?!)

The fact that he named his son "Yinnon", an unusual name reserved for the Moshiach, is obviously meant to keep the Messianic idea somewhat in our gaze. At the time, people said that Yigal Amir was roshei teivos "yigal am m'yitzchak rabin"!
