Title: Separate section for critics and/or trolls
Post by: Ralph1 on November 29, 2007, 04:44:40 AM
I say yes and many other forums have them.

Definately not one for trolls...Because they can just come on here and mess things up...no no no no..

Those who might disagree...what stops them from coming to the general discussion section? pointless to have another section for them.

Now, if one wants to disagree wtih something, that's fine. I disagree wtih a lot of things.. Most of the time, I will jsut keep mouth shut if i have no way of defending how I feel if it is different.

And to be honest, you have to prove yourself here on this forum to not get misunderstood or bashed like some idiots who come here for the first time and sound awefully trollish...

Yes, That would be a great idea...  but why give them a platform?!

In my opinion, having an "opposing views" section comes off as xenophobic and afraid to discourse.  This is a move that StørmFrønt uses.

Legitimate critics should be allowed to post. As for trolls, I think a special trolls section might be a good idea--they could flame away at us and we could do the same in response, no-holds barred.  ;) The old Feminem.com Forums (where I honed my e-dissing skills) had a feature like this called "The War Zone". I think that might not be a bad idea for us.

This wouldn't look very professional...

a special troll section makes no sense...what stops them from flaming us in the general discussion section?  I think it's dumb to make trolls legitimate..waste of space...

And perhaps a section of opposing views or complaint section might be ok...although i don't see what's wrong with using the general discussion section.

What Feminem.com did was instantly ban trolls who tried to register and post in the general sections, but allowed people to post unregistered in the "War Zone". Anyhow, it's not a big deal--I'm just sharing what was done on another forum.

There are too many opposing view so it would be more organized to classify it to a separate section. As JTF grows you'll get more friends and more critics so it'll be distracting to have both of them posting in the same section.

I agree with EagleEye
in that-
forget the troll section, that is stupid, and unprofessional.

And regearding the "opposing views". I agree with his criticism.

BUT..

How about
"Debate JTF".  That doesn`t look like we are afraid to have our views challenged.  It looks open.

the general discussion forum and others I have been to, are where us friends hang around and debate but we agree on the general points. That is not how it has turned out, and that is fantastic.

A debate JTF forum would be great.. Even regulars could voice issues that they have that disagree with main points of JTF.  I know some of us agree with the main thing we all want the arabs out.  But we disagree on other things.      Other solutions to the conflict could be proposed there and debated. e.t..c

All WN sites use it, many to great effect.
