No, they are a seperate ethnic group from the Arabs.

They are the ancient inhabitans of the area since Biblical times. But Nazi Islam conquered the area and Arabized all Middle Eastern people except The Jews. The Arab Muslim Nazis call all ancient Middle Eastern peoples Arabs even before there were any Arabs.
What do you mean ?

Thanks for the info Yacov. so where were the arabs before the were in the middle east?

The Arabian pennisula they Arabized most native people of the mid east ancient people, except the Jews. The Assyrians are treted very badly in Iraq

Assyrian = any kind of Christian Arab. Syria/Lebanon/Iraq etc.
I know an Assyrian girl from Iraq and she said that if she were to openly worship the lord openly there she would likely be murdered or raped, or both.

They always were in the middle east but they lived only in today's Saudi Arabia until they started with their invasions.

Surprised too. Do you guys have any Chaldeans where you are from?
-
They've been Arabized. Saddam's deputy Tariq Aziz was an Assyrian Christian. They are called Nestorians and are a very ancient sect of Christianity before there were Catholics even. They are an Oriental Orthodox Church. Other Oriental Orthodox Churches are Maronite Lebanese Christians (Phoenician), Coptic Egyptians (Remnants of Pre-Arab Ancient Egypt.) and The Ethiopian Orthodox Church. There is also a Syrian Orthodox Church and even an Indian Orthodox Church that has been in India about 2,000 years long before modern missionaries ever came to India.
It is not correct to call them Nestorians or to say that they were there before Catholics. Nestorius was a Bishop of Constantinople who lived in the 5th century, he had a differing idea about the nature of Jesus and his relationship with Mary. He was labeled a heretic and caused a schism which led many Assyrians to break away from the Church- until this time they were under the authority of the Bishop of Rome. So up until this time Assyrians were all Catholic. But not all Assyrians broke away with Rome at this time and remained in the Catholic Church until the Great Schism between Rome and Constantinople. Relations between Assyrians and Rome were reestablished in the middle of the 17th century and finalized by the middle of the 19th century creating the Chaldean Church of Babylon. Tariq Aziz, like most Assyrians, is a Chaldean Catholic. The rest mostly belong to the Assyrian Church of the East who are "Nestorians". Those in Assyrian Church of the East do not refer to themselves as "Nestorians" and they still claim to be "catholic" and they have begun negotiations with the Vatican to come back into communion with them.
The Maronite Church is another Eastern Church in full communion with Rome. They are not Oriental Orthodox.

What about the historical Moors of North Africa? Were they berbers or some other ethnic group that became arabized? I get confused because I've read travel accounts by 19th-century travelers to Morocco and Algeria, who write about encountetring Arabs, Moors, and Berbers - as if these were three distinct groups of people co-existing in North Africa. Could someone enlighten me, please?

Moors were Black Africans, Berbers and Arabs. Berbers are the native people of west-north-africa area, and the Berbers were Arabized culturaly but they never considered themselvs as Arabs, infact, Berbers are rulling Tunisia, Algiria and Morcco almost immediately after the Arab took those land, they revolted against tham.

The Ancient Assyrians of Semitic origins from the upper Tigerous region and were not Arabians: Arabs but with origins from the city state of Assur (Hebrew). Now if one wishes to discuss the Hittites and Hitusha that is a fascinating subject.

Moors were, for the most part, arab muslims. The word "moor" is European in its roots.

I don't know if they were mostly Arabs, but it's a sure fact that Berbers were a majoraty in north Africa.

The three last people (in the bottom row) look like regular arabs to me.

Some Assyrians have additional influences, but overall they are Middle Eastern or at least indigenous to the Middle East.

They are not Semites. I was talking about the Semites people as the Jews, Phoenicians, northern Arabs, Babylonians etc'. But they were darker then the Europrean people, so it's s somehow in the middle...

Ethnic arabs tend to arabicize everything/everybody, very easily.
They just swallowed regions, Countries, Peoples they encountered,
for the time of their (not finished yet) invasion.
Kabyles, Berbers, didn't even speak arab,
neither were they muSSlims, before the arab arrival.
The same goes for the Assyrians.

Arabs are not Semites they are Hamites... ;)

So..? Many Jews also look like Arabs.
Oh, no, not Ashkenazi Jews. They don't look like arabs at all. Sephardic Jews are mixed with arabs, though, and look different. Many of them look like arabs. They also have a lower IQ, according to some recent studies. Ashkenazi IQ is 110. Sephardic IQ is below 100. I think it's 91. There was a discussion about it in the Commentary Magazine.

Yes, all Jews come from the land of Israel and were righteous ancient indigenous Middle Eastern people, then the Arabs came along and Nazified-Arabized-Stole and pillaged and plundered everything.
Arabs nowadays have Sub-Saharan admixture from Slavery, Arabs mixed with blacks and are still enslaving them, that's why today's muSSlim Arabs are the most different than any other people in the Middle East.

According to an Israeli geneticist who has done a lot of comparative studies of the Jewish DNA, this is not true. There are genes for blondness and light-colored eyes that are native to Jews. They are less common than brown hair, but they exist nonetheless. These are native Jewish phenotypes. Keep in mind that "blond" Jews are not as blond as Scandinavians. They may be tow-heads as babies, but become dish-water blonds when they mature. It's a misconception to think that they have become mixed with the surrounding populations. He has done comparative studies on Jews and the Slavic and Germanic populations among whom they lived. He concluded that there is very little admixture. There is a lot more in common genetically between Ashkenazi Jews and the Kurds, for example, with whom they had no or little contact.

There were conversions all through the middle ages, especially from the Christian clergy and educated Moslems. It was not unusual for a Moslem to travel to a Christian country to convert to Judaism and vice versa. Also DNA evidence supports the hypothesis that the first Jews in many more distant (from Mediterranean culture) areas were men, probably traders, who married local women and founded communities. They were probably joined later by larger migrations of Jews from the south. Also keep in mind that at one time 10 % of the Roman Empire was Jewish. Most Europeans, therefore, probably have some distant Jewish ancestry. Although blond hair isn't common in southern European people, there were some blond hair people that were mixing with the Jews after the great rebelion of 66-70 B.C.E., plus enter the mixing with Europeans and there you have it.
http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/97/12/6769
Also, this study based on mitochondrial DNA that reveals that 40% of Ashkenazi Jews are descended from just 4 females from the Middle East 2000 years ago. The remaining 60% cannot be precisely identified but Middle Eastern origin is probable for many them.
The Y-chromosome of course is inherited from the father and the mitochondrial DNA from the mother. This testifies to a striking and remarkable degree of genetic stability over the centuries.
As for the distribution of blond hair in Jewish populations, in those regions where blond hair predominates in the non-Jewish population the proportion of blond hair in the Jewish population is lower; in regions where blond hair in the Gentile population is rare, blond hair in the Jewish population is proportionately higher.
It's worth pointing out as well that the Kabyle of North Africa have golden hair and Esau is supposed to have had red hair. Sefardic Jews also have some blond hair people, but they are in lower number then in Ashkenazi Jewish population.

In the past when the Ashkenazi Jewish areas were pretty close the Jews looked darker, but with time they became lighter because of mixing. Most Sefardics are lighter than the Arabs. Plus, the Sefardic Jews in Israel only have lower IQ and that's because what happend to us in the 1950', while Sefardics in other places have pretty high IQ, sometimes higher than Ashkenazi one. If Sefardics would have live in European life style they would have a higher IQ. It's proved that 95% of the Jews in north-Africa, Iraq and Persia (I am not sure about Persia) studied in weastern schools. There are 10,0000 Morrocon Jews in Spain and they have higher number of proffersors than the morrocon Jews in Israel who are numbered in 1,000,000.
