Olmert: I don't believe Shas will quit gov't

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that "I don't see a danger to the wholeness of the coalition and I don't believe that Shas will quit."

 

In a conversation with Knesset reporters, Olmert noted that "it is clear to all sides that Jerusalem is the final issue on the table that will be discussed with the Palestinians." (Attila Somfalvi)

Shas are more concerned with welfare payments and subsidised housing for their constituents than Jerusalem.

Shas has a lot of right-wing sephardim that voted for it, so it cant go too far to the left
