Yes, though I'm Jewish, have a great Holiday MW.  Sorry again about your cat.  Hope you get over the loss a little bit and get a new cat as well. O0

Thank you Ari, When I went to North Shore yesterday, they said starting in April there will be a lot of kittens and young adults cause (Spring is in the air for many creatures) and was already approved they made me fill out to make sure that the animal will live in a decent living condition.  So by then I will be able to adopt maybe not just one but twins.

bubby,

Your stated views appear to me those of a committed "born again" Christian desiring to proselytize Jews.

I've never known Jews to teach such ideas as you have posted on the forum.

You are welcome to believe and worship as you see fit, but if you are a Christian believer it is best if you simply acknowledge such so that a proper relationship with JTF may develop from the start.

Thank you! I love the regular colored 'hiding eggs' better than the chocolate eggs. I try to lay in a supply each year because I won't get anymore until next Easter. lol

It is rather interesting to have both St. Patty's Day and Easter Sunday in the same week.  I don't think that has ever happened before.

Do people actually have an Easter dinner? What is that? Is it like Thanksgiving?

They do, like I will have after Mass with my family but it is more of a Holy atmosphere then Thanksgiving even though the base of Thanksgiving is to give thanks for the meal that we are to be blessed to be having.

Anytime Mills, and if you have any more questions on how Chrisitans/Catholics celebrate their holidays I would be more then happy to explain.  Like I have many questions and interest on knowing what people do during certain Jewish holidays.

Thanks so much MasterWolf1!

And Cyberella, you are on a ROLL with the great pictures!!!! WOW  :::D

Glad you enjoyed the pictures.
To tell you more about Easter; in our family
we usually go to Easter Sunrise Services. Our service is held by the sea here and is quite beautiful. The service starts early in the morning and is timed so that the you can see the sun rise when the service is going on.
This is celebrated because  Mary Magdalene was said to have come to Jesus' tomb at sunrise, only to find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.
After the service, the church  serves a breakfast for the the attenders of the church service.

The ladies in my family all have to have a new easter dress. We all get dressed up in our new finery and go to church. There is always an easter egg hunt for the children on the church lawn. In our family we usually prepare a huge dinner and serve a ham with all the trimmings- lots of pies and cakes. My grandparents and all local relatives are invited. It's really quite a lovely day.

Yes it is very rare. Hasn't happened since 1940 and won't happen again till 2160. It caused some problems with parades because Saints days are not supposed to be celebrated during Holy Week.

Normally I meet with my friends and family, eat a leg of lamb and so called "easter bread" and read in the gospels the story of easter.

A newer development is to watch a film about it. "The greatest story ever told" with Max von Sydow.  ;D

I like the movie and have the DVD.

I like how the Greeks make Easter bread, they put in the corners of the bread 4 eggs colored, and somewhere is a coin and who ever gets the coin will have luck th rough out the year.   I know its superstition and I am not big on superstition but it is nice.

You got the eggs right but the coin is put in the bread baked for New Year's not Easter.

In the bread you can buy in my country are no coins or eggs. It is a sweet yeast-bread. Sometimes there are  some raisins in it.

It is looking like this:

Speaking of Easter, when I was a kid I used to love those Cadbury Easter Eggs.  I had one a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years, but I found it too sweet. :-\

Sometimes candy just tastes better when you're a kid. I like sweet things but there's no way I could eat as many Cadbury eggs as I did then at one time! lol
