This is how you do it ;)

I usually do it alone at least once a week so far..
I do the:
1. the first blessing
2. the prayer with all of the other blessings
3. barukh she-amar
4. Ashrei
5. yishibakh shimkha malkeynu
6. Ahava raba
7. Shema
8 Mi khamokha
9. Amida
10. Aleinu
takes about 15-20 minutes...pretty much know the words by heart, but still need to look at the prayer book to get it right.

Hazal say that Tefillin is equal to the whole Torah.
Kool, didn't hear that, but I know that it is very important and one of the 3 covenents that a Jew has with G-d. SHABB-t - is made of Shin Bet Tet which is Shabb-t, Brit Tefillin.
-
Congrats!
Use them well! O0

A little bit about the Mitzva of Tefillin from www.Israel613.com
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MITZVAH OF TEFILLIN
Tefillin are Israel's strength. It is written (Deut. 28:10), "And the peoples of the earth shall see that G-d's Name is called upon you, and they shall be awed by you." This refers to the Tefillin
(Talmud Berachot 6a)
Happy is the man who wears Tefillin and fathoms their mystery. Zohar 1:129a
When a man wears Tefillin and Tzitzit, he enters a realm where the Holy One Himself surrounds him with the mystery of the Highest Faith. Ibid. 1: 140b
The Mitzvah of Tefillin encompasses all others. Kidushin 35a
30) A man wearing Tefillin on his arm and head, Tzitzit on his garment, and a Mezuzah on his doorpost, is certain not to sin. Ibid.
31) One who does not wear Tefillin violates eight commandments. ibid 44a
32) He who wears Tefillin is worthy of long life. ibid
