In the Queens or Long Island Nassau area. I'm in carb withdrawals because of Passover. O0
-
How long is Passover for you guys?
-
We already had this in the kosher section.
What was the answer again?
-
Ray's pizza
-
Rosa's Pizza- 3 locations:
Ridgewood, Middle Village, Maspeth all in NYC
-
Danstx, did you ever go to any of the kosher places to see how they compare? I would be interested to know which kosher place is your favorite.
-
I don't think I have ever been to one... but I'd be very interested to go!
What do you recommend?
-
I like Freddy's in Whitestone. They put real nice slices of mozzerella.
-
How do you guys rate the Pizza at chain stores like Pizza Hut, Domino's or Papa John's?

Oh hehe, their are a bunch of good ones. I like all pizza(prob cause I am trying not to eat it for health reasons) so I can't really judge fairly. I know this is not near you but if you are ever in brooklyn, go to pizza time on avenue j and east thirteen. That is the best pizza in the world. I guarantee you that no non kosher one can come close. Other than that, the ones in Queens on main street are just average.

Dominos to me is like cardboard with sauce and cheese, I never tried Papa John's. As far as Pizza Hut, its ok but its nothing like a mom and pop real pizza place
-
Now it's not in NY, but try Starlite Pizzaria in West Orange, NJ. They have a thin crust which is out of this world. Extra cheese is great also.
-
Ari how about making a Matzo Pizza???
-
Not a bad idea. It would give those thin crust varieties a run for their money. O0
-
Not a bad idea. But many Jews I know do that on Passover.
-
Amore's in Flushing off the Whitestone Expressway.
-
Pizza Chef in Whitestone is also terrific
-
Ari how about making a Matzo Pizza???
Isn't that in Peru? :::D

what's the exact location in middle village?

Whenever I rate pizza the two most important things are the consistency of the crust and the taste of the tomato sauce. Cheese is scaled on a lower level..for example, cheese basically tastes the same on most pizza, but only vary in saltiness.

I heard that the tomatoe sauce they make is with pig's feet.

75-59 Metropolitan Ave., it's on the corner. The best one has to be in Ridgewood- that's Fresh Pond Road and Metropolitan Ave.
The only problem is that the owners started to higher many Albanians and so customer service suffers a bit now.

Are you serious?

Papa John's is by far the best of the big three chains. But if I lived in New York, I'm sure I would learn what real good pizza is. Here in the south, we don't have the option of good pizza places. Just fried southern style dishes. Yee-haw!

Masterwolf I grew up in Whitestone in the 70s and 80s.
I used to go to Freddy's all the time. I used to walk from PS 193 and PS 194 to get Pizza there.
It was good.
Everyone is always saying, Difara's in Brooklyn makes the best pizza in NY.
Here's a message board about it.

They had on Oprah a few months ago the best pizza in NY was Mariella's. Its in Manhantan.
I had there pizza a month ago just to see how it was.
It was ok, but nothing special.
Freddy's in Whitestone is much better.
