Mortars are very small in size so anti-missile systems are useless.

It's gonna get a lot worse. Israel is about to release hundreds of prisoners, including the infamous Samir Kuntar (darling of international "human rights" NGOs) in order to get the remains of the soldiers Hezbollah kidnapped.  >:(
