I am tired of products made in China, I want to boycott as many products from China as possible, and other 3rd world countries. I looked at many products in my house and was disgusted by how many products I have that say "Made In China".

Ok, so far it looks like China, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, and Japan are dominant in Electronics, that goes for pretty much everything. Many companies are outsourcing electronics out for saving cost, lifespan has been shortened due to quality control. Over time, Japan will be out of the picture and it will be down to Korea, Vietnam and China. Korea may give in to demands and start outsourcing to either China, Singapore, Indonesia, or Thailand. Quality is getting worse as it goes to these countries, you can't pick up a harddrive that doesn't say Made In Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore or China nowadays. The lifespan is pretty [censored] too. Tv's, good luck finding one made in America, even those that say made in America are only assembled here, where do you think the boards and transistors come from? Cell phones, gaming systems, all that's been outsourced. Technology is improving, lifespan is not. It's all about companys saving cost while we pay more money for inferior garbage.
Guns & equipment, toss up here. Guns are made all over the world, and while we still have an open market to guns, we still have a choice. America is falling behind in firearms recycling the same designs, there are a few clones made in America though they are considered inferior, the one and only thing we make here in the country and we can't even do it right anymore. Europe is taking the prize for this and producing much better firearms though they are expensive and due to import laws, they must contain a certain amount of American parts. Chinese firearms surprisingly are of good quality but they've been banned for import into America, the only thing they make right for a change, how surprising.
Equipment, as you can see, most of my nylon items, boots, cases, etc. are made in China or Vietnam, this is all military grade stuff by the way. The durability is poor and rips easily, zippers not well made, looks like it was made in a sweatshop. It all use to be made here in America.
Watches, good quality stuff from Switzerland, Japan makes some good stuff but it's becoming less common, Chinese knockoffs are dominating the market and are made of garbage. We're paying high prices for items that look good but are made of excrement.
Vehicles, well China and India are introducing cheap mobiles to the market, America somewhat has it's head in the market but it's in reverse, foreign companies (Like Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi) are owned by Japanese companies but yet their cars sold here are mainly made in America, that's good news. Ford and Chevy, etc. are using imported parts and outsourcing work. It probably won't be long until people get desperate for cheap mobiles as people are starting to go to KIA (made in South Korea), over time as the economy goes down, watch China try to take over this market.
clothing/dive equipment
Clothing I am not surprised, all the silk and clothing is either made in Mexico, Dominican Republic (socks, underwear), or China. China is quickly trying to move in for the kill with clothing on price alone. How else are we able to get clothing so cheap (but made by a 10 year old in a sweatshop).
Diving equipment, I was really dissappointed in this, while some of the quality stuff is made in Japan, I couldn't find one item made in America like I could 10 years ago. The only exception is my dive computer which states that it was assembled in Israel but being a new company, they'll probably outsource soon. All the masks/fins/plastics are now made either in Taiwan or China.
Various others, ahh this is where China takes the cake. Almost all these cheap toys, small paperweights, pens, statues, flowerpots, is all made in China imported to walmart and these cheap stores. Your average household item including sofas will all be made in China soon.
So what exactly does this mean? Nearly everything is outsourced from this country, we are 100 percent dependent on other countries to produce our items. Sure, we can blame China, we can blame the 3rd world, but the real problem is the corporations. It is big corporations who don't give a rats @$$ about the consumer but only about maximizing profits. Even companies that produce quality products are outsourcing to save money because it appeals to the shareholders, makes sense from a business perspective right? Consumers aren't fooled by the quality nor the fact that we're selling our jobs to some mut over in a 3rd world country.
With all these claims of Chinese product defects, I haven't even covered the water yet, sure I covered items for pleasure or luxury, what about items we need? Food for example? Tooth paste for bushing our teeth? Medication? Know where all of these are made?
I need suggestions how I can boycott China and I need websites that show products that are made IN America even if it costs more.
Unfortunately, you see all these people protesting against China waving their Chinese made American flag, wearing their Chinese nikes and clothes, with their Chinese made paper posters protesting against walmart for importing Chinese goods. We need a real boycott because these corporations are going to completely make us useless at this rate. If we don't do something, we're all going to be purchasing copies of Torah made in China soon.
My classification
High quality American made products remain at the top
Japan is way up there in terms of quality due to their strict quality control and has never failed me
Taiwan/South Korea are a mix, most of their products are great.
China ranks down there way below Taiwan and South Korea, very shoddy
Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand are comparable or lower
Vietnam, complete garbage, most of our military stuff being made there or Thailand now (clothes, nylon)

You can get them for 20 bucks on ebay. It's unfortunate that the only American owned corporation who produces a console now (XBOX) doesn't even make the damn thing in America.

I used to just burn the games online and pop them in my dreamcast, I loved that system.
Anyways, does anyone else here have any opinion or comment about the matter?

Pilman...lets see how many just IGNORE this very EXC post- just like not even bothering to even ASK YOU WHY guns are necessary BIGTIME to all of our lives- Our nation is FALLING apart- and China is our boss, and they are a clever people. That was a lot of writing- that I APPRECIATE pilman. TY- I am starting a garage sale, better they have the JUNK from China.

If America started to produce these type of Items We could ship them out like other countries do and make money off the Item

Right, remember that we still do manufacture some things, like we make a lot of money making the DVD covers and the actual DVD's here in the US, but all of this labor is being outsourced including the steel and plastic/polymers, we're becoming purely a service industry, and even thats being shipped out to areas like India, some companies use China for outsourcing (like Dish Network), and even Linksys now
-
Few politicians will call China, "Communist China."
China is categorized as a "most favored nation" in a "free trade" agreement. All of this should bother you.

If we still produced all those Items and some other things that went with the others we would make more and maybe companys in india would ship there buisness here and we would have more jobs
-
Also with the service jobs, like people say that illegal aliens are just doing jobs Americans don't want to do and say we're becoming a service nation, remember that a lot of the calling centers are outsourced, and even computer jobs. I'm an IT and companies are saying "well why don't we just hire IT's and tech support from India and China". EA is outsourcing programmers from different countries now too.
Also to top it off, while the medical industry is still big, we're being pushed out because we are told that for political correctness, the medical industry wants to bring in more mixed races like Indians and Chinese. Medication coming from overseas too.
Agriculture, we're already screwed.
What else do we have? Legal system? It's a matter of time before that's outsourced too.
If you guys are ok with it, can you post up a sample of products you have in your house and where they are made? My list should give you some ideas, I would like to compare so we can get an idea how dominant Chinese products are in the household? It doesn't have to say "Made In China" you can include other products too so we can get a accurate percentage of the products in your household to what you have found?
-
China is the next foe that the US will have to confront if not an economic meltdown will occur that might spell the end of the Super Power status as we know it, G-d forbid.

The elitists want the US to be dependent on other countries for all of the things you mention. They don't care about sovereignty.

I hate when people say that mexicans do the jobs no one else wants which is bull
If they payed the correct amount of money and not pay very little then Americans would do those Jobs

Duncan Hunter was the only presidential candidate who made this a top priority of his platform.
He's also a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. I told you to support him and to not have initially supported Ron Paul.

I would recommend people try to look at products before they buy it if they care about the Chinese threat, I am starting to now. Unfortunately it's not 100 percent fullproof, for example.
You buy a knife that says made in US right? Well it could be imported material, you don't know where the materials come from, the steel could be from China and the materials assembled in US, so technically this is still supporting China.
Or even new products, say you buy that fancy Panasonic 32" LCD at walmart, well it may say Made In Japan, but take it apart and look at the board, and the transistors, look at the brand name, it is likely made in China. It's very difficult to 100 percent boycott China, but there are products that are not made in China, and this is why it's very important to research what you buy.
Unfortunately, it's not always feasible or possible to avoid Chinese products especially if you need it, like eating utensils, who is going to spend a fortune on these? Sure you could get plastic forks and spoons, but they are probably made in China too!
If we ever enter a war against China or an ally of her, we are really [censored].

Did you guys see the story on how China treated the jihadis. They burned the mosque to the last week because it didn't display an Olympic flag. I think we need to chose our battles. I would be happy with China taking over any jihadi country. We are weak. We let the jihadis spread their fifth on our own soil. China does not stand for that. I would boycott muslim before China any day.
-
That is an EXCELLENT list. I might have that put in our website as well.

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, once their done eliminating muslims, they'll come for us.
Have fun waving your Chinese made American and Israeli flag at protests.

I really dislike buying anything that comes from China however it has got so no matter how much money your willing to spend overcoming this most of the time you end up with a China product anyway. America went from making the best products in the world to almost making nothing here any longer. 95% of the products from China are pure garbage. An American product was built to last for years and years some of this stuff China exports is shot just after a few uses. I don't care how inexpensive it its to buy the stuff it still is not worth it.

100 percent agreed, infact even quality manufacturers are starting to outsource, why should I pay 150 dollars for a pair of new Nikes made in China that I used to be able to get made in the USA for either the same cost or cheaper? And they were made better in the US too.
It's just like anything, Blackhawk charges a premium for their military boots (what our armed forces use) and all the garbage is made in Vietnam and poorly made.
I remember when I ordered my Israeli boots and fatigues from Zahal.org and they felt very flimsy so to speak, had a friend translate the hebrew and the boots were made in China. The fatigues were horribly stitches and the material was so thin that it ripped on even small branches, turned out it was sewn by some Palestinian workers in the north. I complained to Zahal and demanded a refund and explained that the boots the IDF were using was by NOGA EINAT, not a Chinese company. Turned out that Noga Einat started outsourcing to China to cut on costs. I have a pair of the older Israeli boots and the new ones and the older ones were a heck of a lot more durable.
it's not just the civilian market, but even quality products and military products are now being outsourced, ITT got in trouble for outsourcing NVG's (Night vision goggles) to China for crying out loud, a military subcontractor. It's getting bad and it will get worse. Chinese know they have control of our products and slowly poison us with their anti freeze in our toothpaste and lead paint in our childrens mcdonalds toys.
I'm going shopping for American made clothing even if it costs me a arm and a leg, tired of Chinese garbage and their poison.

China is working on becoming a major car, yacht and airplane producer. American yacht makers can't compete with the low wages they pay there. Chinese and Vietnamese products are horrible. Ask anyone who's from Vietnam or China and they'll tell you that every business does everything to cut costs there and they cut every single corner on the products.
-
Before you fly, you can check if it's a Boeing or Airbus too!

China will demolish the free world, according to this video
http://youtube.com/watch?v=fAqrNJr2TFw
People should watch this. It's depressing as all get out, but it's thoughtful. The Axis of Evil that Bush was going to go to war against (remember that one? too bad we didn't really fight them) teams up and succeeds in eating up the free world.
The ideological clashes that should take place between communism and Islam, don't. Israel disappears. Sunni and Shia - doesn't matter. The North American Union is set up to protect itself against China. There is a brief period of rebellion in the States against Big Government, but the patriots lose.
The UN Human Rights Council got away with suppressing the right to criticise Islam, reports Robert Spencer: http://frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=79F671A7-DE83-4F6C-A219-B12076BA3AD3. The discussion yesterday was about criticizing Female Genital Mutilation, but it could have been anything. The Islamic Masters won't tolerate 'insults' - that is, what used to be called Free Speech.
Don't mind me, but I'm feeling depressed by all this.
We have GOT to put up strong national borders. That's the first step. And then re-invest in ourselves, all across the board.
-
So I buy American and Israeli.
Once some moslims wanted me to buy one of their shirts they were selling and I said I only buy Israeli. LOL
What did the shirt say Death To America?
-
The treason can only be stopped by stopping the CFR traitors and ridding ourselves of almost the entire Washington Tyranny Apparatus.
Boycotts, unless engaged in by the entire U.S. population, will amount to nothing.
Secession is my proposal--it's our Right according to the Constitution.

I don't know too many products produced in Israel, I had a pair of socks once that said Made In Israel, but other than military equipment, religious artifacts, weapons, and a few items here and there, I don't know of much else that is mass produced in Israel.
Even Israel is starting to outsource a lot of things.

Our problem does not begin in China.
Electronics and toys from China are the same as oil from the middle east.
Companies are taxed to death.
So, they have products made overseas, then shipped back in and still make money.
The answer is to nuke washington DC.
Once DC has been nuked, we no longer have to worry about China/Russia or Muslim nations.
Sort of like if you were to jump off a cliff and someone decided to slap you silly.
-
I used to order clothes from the Land's End catalogue. The clothes were made in America. They were excellent quality. Suddenly, I noticed one day that the clothes were no longer good quality. They would quickly tear and become frayed, the seems were sown with bad thread. Sure enough, when I checked, the clothes were no longer made in the US, but in Malasya. I stopped buying from them.
Can anyone recommend a clothes catalogue with American-made clothes?

Geee, I'm sure DC getting nuked will fix a lot of things. Not to mention that neighborhood really sucks :)
Seriously... this is not just something unique to our country. Its the same in every country. Everyone is farming their stuff out to these countries. The only way to solve this is to NUKE CHINA! Of course that didnt work to well with Japan, but then again... I think we put furtilizer in those bombs.

I don't like dead innocents. Deliberately murdering peasants in either country does us no good.
I meant to fantasize that it would be nice if someone were to nuke the capital and white house.
I'm not really familiar with China. I guess you can nuke their party HQ.
-
Not just China, Chinese.
-
The Chinese people are a great and civilized people. Nuking China would mean killing plenty of good innocent people. We should only nuke China if it nukes us, which is justified under Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). Otherwise, we should work to strengthen Chinese resistance groups, Tibetan groups, and even the Muslim groups in China, in order for them to take on China's Communist government.
Why would you support the muslim groups soon or later they will attack us
-
We have to defeat the communist government or else we will be stabbed in the back sooner or later by them. We're already getting bad quality products from China, but things can easily get worse.
I am talking about the Uyghers and such groups. They are pretty weak. The idea is we help them out a little bit so they inflict more damage on the Chinese government. Then, China will probably send in tens of thousands of troops to kick their donkeys. So, in the end, the communist government of China, along with the Muslims both take hard hits.
I never said I was going to be allying with any Muslims or "supporting" them. This is about pouring more fuel into the fire. It makes sense to pin our enemies against each other if we can. ;)
[/quote]
A problem is that there's a big debt toward communist China. As C.F. stated in another thread, the US owes too much in treasury bonds.

Guys I found a few websites that show products made in America or companies who have some of their products still manufactured here.
http://www.stillmadeinusa.com/
http://www.madeinusa.org/

Also, I was heavily dissapointed when I e-mailed Oakley to get this email.
Dear Matt,
Thank you for your recent email.
Almost all Oakley sunglasses are made in America, with the exception of a few parts on select frames. At this time Oakley shoes and clothing are not made in America.
Sincerely,
Holly
I have yet to get a response on "which parts" or "frames" are made overseas or where they are made, theres not too many parts in sunglasses so I'm curious.
Also I was disappointed to find out that Yamaha Motors built a factory over in Vietnam in 2005. I bought my waverunners in 2003 and they were manufactured in Georgia, but that may no longer be the case since 2005. This is really becoming a problem, what will happen to the American workers in that factory?
Also about a week ago, my Microsoft webcam that I paid 52 dollars for stopped working, it will only work part of the time and then fail. The electronics are fried and Microsoft won't warranty it. The peice of excrement is also made in China, no surprise.
My XBOX 360 has also been acting up randomly freezing and overheating. I opened the sucker up (bad idea since it voids warranty) and the damn heatsink is garbage, the cooling is insufficient to cool the CPU. The solder also seems to be cracking? Looks like a 3 year old put the damn thing together, very poor engineering. Unfortunately SONY and Nintendo have started to outsource as well to maximize profits and save on production costs since they already own the rights to the hardware.
It's unknown how accurate the lists are but they help a little bit in terms of narrowing down the searches. I would encourage members to call the companies or research before purchasing products and try to find out where they are made. I would like to start a blog or perhaps do some youtube videos on the subject.
Say NO to low quality Chinese products!
