What you expressed about Jesse Helms was an excellent well deserved tribute to the late Senator from North Carolina. I only wish that someone like Jesse Helms would emerge as the true leader of the Republican Party, soon.

It's a shame that there weren't more like him in the congress and that he never ran for president.
Senator Helms thought about running for president in 1980, but he knew that conservatives would overwhelmingly support Ronald Reagan. I hope that someday someone like Senator Helms does run for president and wins.
