Four U.S. rabbis will hold mass prayers and address next Sunday's opening ceremony of the Democratic Convention in Denver.
For the first time, the party has decided to open the upcoming convention with an interfaith service, which will include leaders from all religions in the U.S., including Catholics and Muslim.
The decision is "in keeping with Barack Obama's personal commitment and the commitment of the Democratic Party to put faith in action," a party press release said.
David Saperstein, a high-profile Reform rabbi from Washington, D.C., will address some 70,000 spectators at Denver's stadium, just before Obama is scheduled to speak.
Mark Schneier, a highly-regarded Orthodox rabbi from New York and founding director of the Jewish-Muslim Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, will also take part in the opening ceremony, alongside Amy Schwartzman, a Reform rabbi from Virginia.
"The Democrats have always been, are, and will continue to be people of faith, and the convention will demonstrate that in an unprecedented way," Convention CEO Leah Daughtry said.

This is of course because the democratic party shares so many ideals with not only religious people but also their leaders. Let's see here, religious Christians and Jews are for life. They oppose abortion and euthanasia. The democrats are for both of these abominations. Religious people by and large seek to preserve the distinct European culture of America. The democrats will bring in millions of immigrants from 3rd world countries and will insist that Americans bend over backward to accomodate them. Religious people believe in the family and the sanctity of marriage. Democrats are in favour of gay marriages. Religious Christians and Jews are keenly aware of the threat that islam poses to America and the world. The democrats are so in love with their muslims that they're willing to make one of them the president of the USA.
This is such a complete croc.

I never understood interfaith stuff like that. Why would members of different religions meet to hold a common religious service? It's like saying all religions are the same or equivalent or the person from a particular religion really doesn't care what religion they are leading in.

Big whoop. BHO was able to find four Baal-worshippers he could hire to pretend to be "rabbis" for him.

Imo we JTF are the only real organization of "interfaith"-cooperation, because we doesn't lie to eachother.
Plus: Nobody here needs to dismiss one single point of his creeds.
I am not so shure if this interfaith-democrats are honest like us in this points. I assume they will throw their whole religion overboard in order to look progressive. :(

Good points. I think it's sad how they just don't seem to care about their own religion enough to hold their own, separate religious services. Of course people of different faiths can work together like we do here at JTF, but what I don't understand about this interfaith stuff is the mixed religious ceremonies.
