She is from Houston and as you know they bore the brunt of the hurricane
So we should say a prayer that she and her family will be alright
-
I will be praying for Rubystars and her family.
-
I pray that God in His good grace will keep Rubystars and her family safe!

Hopefully she is fine possibly the wind knocked out the power or communications. Lets hope for the best.

All the Best and Our prayer go out to Rubystars and her family!

I been thinking this too all day with her. I hope in my heart her and her family are alright and safe through all this. I am still praying for her and yes we all should.
-
I hope Rubystars is alright. I dont think their are as many shvartzas in houston as their are in New Orleans so Rubystars should be fine. The primary danger is the shvartzes running around and looting.

Texans are armed and the shvartzas could get a case of lead poisoning. You would be surprised how that humanizes them.

Does anyone have her phone number? Maybe they could try and call?????

Is there any power or phonelines working there? Or are they down. I contacted someone in the Tex/L.A. border that was also hit, only way I am able to reach her now is through text messaging.

I doubt there is where ruby is.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm all right and everyone in my family was all right.
I'm far enough away from the ocean that I didn't have to worry about flooding or storm surge or any of that.
I was surprised how strong the storm was though. It knocked down a lot of trees and left some power lines dangling all over the area and debris from the trees was all over people's yards. I spent some time over the last couple of days raking the front yard to get up all the pine needles and pine cones and branches and help stuff them into bags that fell off the trees.
Your prayers helped a lot, we were worried this one tree might fall down on the kitchen area or another tree might fall on the cars, but both trees stayed up, thank God.
We had a generator so we were able to run a few appliances like the freezer, refrigerator, microwave, and some fans to help us stay cool. When the generator wasn't running it was really hot.
Water leaked into the master bedroom from one wall from the rain so we had to pull up the carpet in that room because it was basically ruined.
That's the only real damage that was done, plus the fences and gate were knocked down in the back yard.
I was mostly worried about Eva getting too hot but I sprayed her once in a while with a spray bottle full of water until the power came back on so that she wouldn't overheat and left cage her close to the back door. We couldn't really leave her in front of a fan because ferrets can get sick from being in drafts.
I got power back on today so we were all really happy about that :)
Anyway THANK YOU all so much for your prayers and concern, because they made such a huge difference. Everybody was safe and came through it relatively ok although we're kind of tired.

-
Good news, good to have you back RS !
-
Prayer WORKS!!!!! Good to have you back on line. As long as the generator can run your computer and internet point of connection life is good.
-
Glad to know you're fine Rubystars!
Btw, does anyone have information about IslamIsCancer?
-
Thanks everyone. The people who really need prayer now are those who had family on Galveston and Bolivar peninsula. A lot of people there were told it was a mandatory evacuation and they needed to leave but they chose to stay, and suffered the consequences. It's very sad, there are a lot of people who didn't fare as well as I did because they didn't evacuate when they were supposed to or underestimated the storm because it was "only" a category 2.

Glad to hear you made it through the storm and only have some property damage to contend with. It sounds like the sort of storm damage we get here on the North Shore of Long Island. Wind and tree damage but thank G-d no flood waters. We haven't had any real bad storms here since the early 90's and G-d willing he will spare us for a few more years. Thankfully everyone in our JTF family seems to have made it through ok and thats the news I was waiting to hear.
