Italian groups are set to protest Wednesday at the premiere of Spike Lee's film "Miracle at St. Anna," which they say is full of lies and insults the memory of the Italian Resistance during the Second World War.
The film, already released in the United States, will debut in Italy on Friday. But it is being shown first at Viareggio on the Tuscan coast, close to the village of Sant' Anna di Stazzema in the Apennine hills above, where 560 civilians — including women and children — were murdered in August 1944 by Nazi SS troops as they retreated northward in the face of the Allied advance.
"Miracle at St. Anna," which highlights the role of African-American soldiers in the war, suggests that anti-fascist partisans indirectly caused the atrocity by first taking refuge in the village and then abandoning the villagers to their fate.
It also shows a partisan named Rodolfo collaborating with the Nazis. This runs directly counter to the accepted Italian version of events, which is that the slaughter was not a reprisal but an unprovoked act of brutality and that the hunt for partisans was a pretext.
It also questions one of the founding myths of Italy's postwar democracy, which holds that the help the partisans gave to the Allies regained Italy the honor it had lost under Benito Mussolini, the fascist dictator, by allying itself with Hitler and Nazi Germany.

Unfortunately I did see "Do the right thing". Italians were forced out of their neighborhoods by savages and one business decided to stay. As a result they were persecuted by these beasts and had their store looted(or was it burned). It's been years since I've seen this film. This was supposedly because they would not post pictures of blacks on their walls and they got into some sort of a dispute with a trespasser.

I go see some movies in the theater but I don't pay for movies that I know have evil content in them, so I would never want to watch this movie in a theater.

I am sure there is but pig is not the animal that comes to my mind when I think of brother Lee. White folks should boycott anything that comes from this animals hands. Let his back brothers pay for his revisionist cr-p. He wanted to change history a while back when the movie Flags of Our Fathers was made. He claimed that they they did not have any black people in the movie depiction of the flag raising on Mount Suribachi at Iwo Jima. After the follow up movie Letters from Iwo Jima Lee complained "there was not one black soldier in any combat position in both of those films" Lee just does not get it blacks played very limited rolls in WW2. Black animals like Lee and bleeding hart liberals want to change history. I see brother Lee and I are about the same age and although he grew up in Brooklyn I lived in Queens I can understand why he has such a hatred for white folks and a thing for Italians most of all. He sees in them everything that most blacks on their best day could never be. New York in the 60's and 70's was a different place then it is today. All the garbage that blacks pull today would never be tolerated back then. Blacks went to the same schools and could shop in the stores in White neighborhoods but they knew that they had to maintain a level of decorum. A black person getting into trouble back then in a white section of New York had a rough road. I guess brother Lee resented the fact that he and other Blacks had to live as humans when among whites and not revert to the Jungle like when they were at home in the hood. During the 80's and 90's it seems that for different reasons the evil black lifestyle became more accepted and things started to go down hill fast. People like Spike Lee want to revise history and show that Blacks were abused for no reason. Forty years ago white society would not have accepted this message. Today however with a brainwashed younger society people like Spike Lee are subversive and dangerous. They are turning white youth into self haters. I urge all white folks and thinking people of all races to avoid anything that comes from Lee's hands.

Italy today while not as bad as some of the neighboring countries is very progressive. They don't realize they are sealing their faith by doing this. Sadly they are falling into the same trap that we are here in America. National pride seems to be a thing of the past in most countries today. A few years ago I was lucky to be able to attend a talk by a man called Walter Wolff. He had been taken to Dachau and through some red tape was released so he could go to Israel what then was called Palestine. He never made it there but ended up in Italy where the Italian people protected most Jews living there as best they could. From what he said it was as safe for Jews in Italy as it could be and it only became bad when the Italian government collapsed towards the end of the war and the Nazi's took over. It was terrible! It was the last movie by Spike Lee that I ever watched! >:( :thumbsdown:

Italy today while not as bad as some of the neighboring countries is very progressive.
They elected a conservative and anti-immigration government. They and Denmark and Austria are OK (compared to others).

Chairman Lee is doing well with his revisionist distortions similarly to Speilberg who screwed up the movie "Munich" so much so the author George Johnas condemned him. I'm sure that there were blacks that fought in WW2, similarly to the Civil War. I'm sure that there were a few heroes amongst them but when presenting their history, like the book "Roots", seems to be highly distorted with a base pushing of a socio-political agenda...
I will not watch this film. Apparently it is bombing at the box office... :::D

The difference between Spike Lee and the average spider monkey...the monkey doesn't wear glasses.
May Spike Lee live a long life...and never make another successful film again. Boycott Spike Lee films even if you can watch them free. I think one of his DVDs would make a good frisbee for the dog.
