I've never asked for this before, but this is such a serious situation, that I need to ask you all for your help.
I just found out today, that my cousin Avi is fighting leukemia. He's had chemotherapy, but he will need several more courses of it. He requires radiation to his brain, where the doctors say some of the cancer cells are localized. This is a very dangerous procedure and they are considering getting a second opinion. Avi also has been having complications from early onset osteoporosis, so they need to operate to actually put CEMENT into his spine. His condition has been complicating his treatment as there is way too much calcium in his blood. Perhaps worst of all, Avi needs a bone marrow transplant. Just the procedure itself has only a 50% survival rate.
I have never been close with Avi because we live so far away from each other, but he is a kind and gentle man, and a far better Jew than I. He is only 31 years old. I survived cancer almost ten years ago (with the help of G-d, blessed be He), so I know the uphill battle he faces.
I know G-d hears all prayers, and I can't think of a more righteous group of individuals to do this. Can you please pray for the speedy return to good health for my cousin Avi, for his sake and for the sake of his family?
