President Obama Does First Formal TV Interview as President with Al-Arabiya

January 26, 2009 6:29 PM

As special envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell heads off to the region to begin work on negotiating a cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians, President Obama has sat for his first formal TV interview with the Arabic cable TV network Al-Arabiya, ABC News has learned.

The interview was taped this evening and is set to air at 11 pm ET, as Mitchell is in the air and on his way to the region.

Based in Dubai, Al-Arabiya estimates that it has a potential audience exceeding 23 million in the Gulf region.

A bongoid supporter I know said she liked the idea of him doing the Al Arabia interview. The obamanation sees nothing wrong with this..

Maybe Oprah should invite Obama, Osama, and Ammadinajihad to be on a Oprah show... That would really generate some ratings, wouldn't it?

Who here could not have predicted this?  I still can't get over how, in his Inauguration speech, he said that America is a "country of Christians, Moslems.....Jews and Hindus."  He probably had to be perusaded not to put Moslems first.

  If G-d forbid that Barack Hussein Obama is re-elected President in 2012,   his Inauguration speech in 2013 will probably list Muslims first.

  On Barack Hussein Obama's interview with Al Arabiya   (which was his first TV interview since he officially took office on Jan. 20 ),   when listening different religions,    Obama mentioned Muslims before Christians.     That part of the interview was played on Sean Hannity's TV show on Wednesday Night (  Jan.  28  ).
