Palin, Huckabee Lead 2012 GOP Hopefuls
March 06, 2009
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Supporters of the Republican Party in the United States have two main choices as they ponder their presidential nominee for 2012, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 29 per cent of respondents would support Alaska governor Sarah Palin, while 26 per cent would back former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is third with 21 per cent, followed by Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal with nine per cent.
In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the White House. In November 2008, Democratic nominee Barack Obama secured a majority of electoral votes, defeating Republican candidate John McCain. In January, Obama became the first African American president in U.S. history.
In 2008, Palin was McCain’s running mate in the Republican ticket. Huckabee and Romney launched presidential campaigns, but dropped out of the race as McCain became the clear frontrunner.
Last month, Romney criticized the current administration’s economic policies, saying, "America voted for change. America did not vote for a boat-load of new government spending programs that would guarantee higher taxes and high deficits as far as the eye can see and that would threaten our currency, our economy, and our future. We must be the alternative course."

Next, I’m going to read a list of people who may be running in the Republican primary for president in 2012. After I read all the names, please tell me which of those candidates you would be most likely to support for the Republican nomination for president in the year 2012, or if you would support someone else.

Absolutely un-freaking believable! >:( >:( >:( The leftist pig who proudly released rapists and murderers from prison after they claimed to "repent", called people who oppose giving the moon to illegal aliens "unChristlike", completely ruled out an attack on Iran and screamed about the "torture" of hardcore terrorists, raised taxes astronomically as Arkansas governor, "warned" the GOP against attacking St. Obama, and whined about the plight of the Fakestinians just two years ago is only three points behind Sarah Palin? What are the morons that constitute today's Republican voters smoking? Are we going to have an evangelical John McCain as our '12 candidate? Sheesh!
Chaim, could you please give a "yimach schmo" to Huckster, the Rick Warren of politics?
Here for the record is the exact text of his infamous January 2007 pro-Arab whinepiece:

I’ve visited Israel 9 times, and strongly believe in its right to exist & the important example it has set forth in its seriousness toward its own security as well as the admirable expectation it has of its people to be stakeholders in its preservation. Even though I support Israel, its boundaries, and its future, and believe its alliance with the US is one of great strategic value, a conversation with a Palestinian reminded me that the issue is not simple. (WTF?!?)
The Palestinian was relocated had been told one day that he would be relocated to a Palestinian camp and that his neighborhood would be occupied by Israelis. It was always easy to me to understand why the Jews, having been displaced for thousands of years, would feel a divine right to return to the land promised to their forefathers and previously taken from them. But Palestinians are still human beings who deserve to be treated respectfully since they personally have not done wrong and now are being forced from what has been their home. (Taking campaign donations from CAIR, eh Huckster?)
(An enraged) Chaimfan. >:(

Though I'm glad that Sarah Palin is First Place at this time, I'm far less than thrilled that Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney are in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. If by chance Gov. Palin elects not to run for President in 2012, I rather see Bobby Jindal or Tim Pawlenty get the nomination than Huckabee or Romney. Both Huckabee and Romney have a troubling past. The examples you gave about Huckabee certainly are a huge concern about him. Romney being left of Ted Kennedy on some issues in the 1994 Mass. U.S Senate race is very disturbing.

I like C- Jeff Flake from AZ, even though its OVER. Sickening CF- YEMACH SCHEMO to the LIAR

Jindal is who the DemonRats want us to nominate. They know he's a boring intellectual who can't excite the GOP into voting out the Kenyan. Pawlenty is a RINO. Of course, Romney goes which ever way the wind blows, and Huckabee even defended Jeremiah Wright when the scandal started.
ONLY Palin.
-
Romney is probably the least noxious of the trio of him, Pawlenty, and Huckster.
-
I hope there is an election in 2012. Of course we have to consider who should run for the republicans. I'm worried that by 2012 America will not be a free society anymore. We're headed towards full blown Stalinism.
-
My brother was sooooooooo mad I didn't vote for Huckabee!!!!!!!! He doesn't LIVE in Arkansas, I DO!!!!!!!!!!! I sure hope we have an election come 2012, but the way things are going, Obamanation will change the laws of the terms of the presidency and try to run this country for as long as he lives. :'(
-
Only Sarah Palin can save us in 2012.
-
Arksis,
Wouldn't that be the all end all, if Obama changed term limits.
I too want Palin to go for it. She is a firecracker who is fearless. She has guts and has what it takes to really shake things up.
I like Jindal very much but, my fear is since he has a calm quiet demeanor about him, that the Democrats will try to make mince meat out of him.
-
Huckabee is a royal piece of drek. I support Newt Gingrich in 2012. I cannot support Palin after she said the she was for a fakestinian state in the debate.

Who can we trust? Israel's future depends on it.
-
DownwithIslam, Gingrich is an animal. In 1996 when the idiotic Peresites of Israel rejected the GOP special envoy who came there to urge them to resist Clinton's "peace process", he said "screw Israel" and never again supported her. This pro-pornography pig divorced his wife while she was in the hospital for breast cancer and has had numerous affairs; in 1995 even his own wife said he should not be president.
Sarah Palin had to say what she did or risk creating an enormous rift with the pig whose ticket she was on. I can promise you she does not support vivisecting Israel.
-
I love Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindahl too, would love to see them both on the ticket. No matter WHO runs, they will make mincemeat out of them. We need someone with spunk, that will get the young people motivated and ready to be on the "right" side. I would love to see the Dems turn on their own!
-
I know if Palin ran that there'd be a lot of energy on her ticket because she would go all out to win and say exactly what she wanted to say about the other side, for the most part.
I liked it when she had an interview saying that she didn't know why the feminists hated her so much just because she's pro-life.
To me she exemplifies the good side of feminism, with a beautiful family, political power, and a great career.
The thing that makes me sad though is that I don't think we'll have the option of voting for her next time because the media have spread lies about her, such as the whole trumped up clothing thing, and comedy shows have torn her apart, especially that awful Saturday Night Live, have completely wrecked her image.
Even her children were attacked mercilessly, with Bristol being attacked for having a baby with someone she loved but didn't happen to be married to at the time, and really horrible things said about an innocent baby, Trig, that I'd rather not even remember.

CF I think you are being to harsh. A politician must be a politician, they have to respect everyone. Jew, Arab or not.
Has he back down from this idea he had?
http://www.israelenews.com/view.asp?ID=728
This is way so many Jews supported him.
-
CF, I have seen gingrich sound openly kahanist. i saw videos of him talking about israel in a loving way
-
I want Palin/Jindal.. Can we please learn from 08

I think it's political schtick. Since a huge segment of GOP core voters are conservative biblical Christians, they all pretend to be pro-Israel.
-
Romney= Pawlenty with money. Little difference between them.
-
I'd go with Romney before Pawlenty.
