Recently in my U.S. history class, we were learning about Lyndon Johnson's "great society" programs. Our teacher asked us why poverty exists. One girl raised her hand and said, "because the rich are greedy." Someone else then raised his hand and said, "because the capitalist system naturally makes the rich richer and makes the poor poorer." There is absolutely no logic to what they say.

I just said that people are poor because they are not skilled or educated enough to get a higher paying job.

People who are poor because they are caught in a system that gives them handouts and deducts what they make from those handouts. As long as people are taken care of, they have no incentive to transcend their situation and create real wealth.
