Looks like tax payers are paying for his memorial. I hope a minimal amount of federal dollars go to this.

I really think they should send the bill to the family...they can afford it...

This is outrageous.... I am sick of MJ and I haven't even seen a single minute of coverage of him... I ignore him like a plague.

Same here...

Yes, this is another outrage...glorifying a pedo phile and taking tax dollars from a bankrupt State to honor him while his family makes plans to collect hundreds of millions of dollars.

The most ridiculous part of this MJ memorial is that Mayor Villagroso has asked the citizens of Los Angeles to pitch in and help the city cover the costs for the memorial.
He was interviewed on the morning news and said that citizens should check his Twitter page, where it gives them the information and how to contribute via PayPal and other methods of payment.
As if any private citizen is going to follow up on his suggestion.

The problem is that the tickets were given to people for free instead of sold the way they should have been.

While the media covered the Jackson story, the House passed the Clean Energy Act of 2009, which will raise gas and electricity rates. To cause the state further man power and dollars shows the ignorance and selfishness of the people of this state. Why didn't the family have a church funeral?

One more reason for California to sink on the buttom of Pacific. I hope the mayor of Gomorah... sorry LA will have to pay from his own pocket.

Debbie,
You hit on an issue that I was watching and waiting to see if anybody paid any notice to, the passing of the Clean Energy Act.
I'm glad that you noticed it as well.
It's truly an outrage when California's budget is so far in the red that the Jackson's would take advantage of the city of Los Angeles in such dire times.

I just watched a report on MSNBC about this, they city is saying "we hope that the Jackson family will want to step up and help out with this" or something....(cant remember the exact words they used)..so MAYBE just MAYBE they will get the hint?

I'm sure plenty of crimes were committed by all the trash that was attending. Perhaps the police could have raised money by ticketing some of the vermin that attended. While they are out ticketing motorists for non malicious crimes, they do little or nothing to deter those who cause malicious crimes.
