She was pushed around and abused by another being but fought back and won. Yet she faces condemnation from others for her actions.

It sure does. I pretty much think it sounds like a double standard.

Abominable. Most serial killers don't get life without parole.

This bothers me:
At 16-years-old Sara was convicted of killing her pimp and sentenced to life without parole.
A 16-year old girl, tried and sentenced as an adult, for justifiably killing the man that was abusing and exploiting her? WTF?
