Seems like it is something that should have been addressed 40 or 50 years ago if not sooner. Seems almost a waist of effort at this point with most of the people concerned now dead. They made people live a life of misery because of unjust accusations. Even if any of them are still alive they most likely could no longer care less what anyone thinks at this point.

This is far too late! Even the criminals of communist East Germany were treated right after the reunification! This is sad, but I am sure most of them - also the ones who died - don't need a statal approval to know they are/were honourable. The end of WWII and the exposal of all cruelties done by the Nazis are the best proves they could have to have been on the right side!
