I can't know for sure but there is a good chance she is not, at least not to an obsessive level. Natural & Computer Sciences researches and mathematicians are usually people who are interested in their field and don't try to "change the world". Some of them are conservative or religious people. It is Humanities people who are much more prone to become leftists.
